oh it's helping me alright. Havn't gotten to thank you officially. Me being a dumbass lost the letter that has your information. I'm trying to use tbe guide sparingly and not read it every step of the way like I did on OOT. I had to use it a couple times on the lakebed temple though, it seriously pwnt me trying to get the boss key. I am only trying to use it after I have tried to explore on my own a bit.. Can you pm me you Wii number. Mine is 3769 0817 4949 5429. Btw I love the wiimote skin. Makes the wiimote alot more comfortable. The keychain was also nice. I am currently using it

how do you catch the cat at the beginning

Go fishing where the cat is. When one hooks pull it out and the cat will jack your fish. Go north towards Links house and go in the last house in the same area on the right (GC) or left (Wii).

Chest under the stairs? Isn't that guarded by the man eating plant? And you can only kill it by throwing a bomb?
