My dr. told me to take 2 Zegerid a day (20mg each). I just started this last night (I've been taking 1 a day since the beginning of the month).

Does anyone know how far apart to take them? I just took my second one of the day before dinner and realized it is 7 hours from when I took the first one- is this enough time apart?

If not, is 40mg of omeprazole enough to overdose or have bad symptoms?

Also- vision problems are associated with omeprazole. Since I always have sinus issues, I want to make sure I would know the difference between sinus pain vision issues, and ones to be concerned about with omeprazole. Does anyone know if this is from taking it for a very long time? I've been taking it for almost a month. Is a month considered a long time?

Thank you

No, a month is not considered a long time to take them. And the vision problems are pretty rare, but definitely check out any vision problems which are new to you.

Some people take 2 per day at the same time. Others take them morning and evening. It depenRAB what your neeRAB are. Are you taking 2 because 1 isn't working, or because it doesn't last long enough?

Check with your doctor or pharmacist on your dosage. Most people who take it twice per day do so about 1/2 hour- 1 hour prior to breakfast and supper for it to me most effective.

1 month isn't long. For people who take it to help heal their esophagus, the typical beginning treatment lasts 6-8 weeks.

I've been on PPI's, including Zegerid, twice per day for about 8-9 years. For me, taking the medication very much outweighs the potential side effects. I'm unusual in the severity of my reflux though.

I seem to be having an intense bout of reflux, my doctor told me to take 2 a day. I am out of town, so I couldn't ask him about it. Thank you for answering!
