Zan Sayonara Zetsubou Sensei

What do you get when you place the world's most negative person in a classroom with the world's most positive person and a bunch of other misfit students? What you get is Sayonara Zetsubou Sensei, a long running, award winning manga series by Koji Kumeta. Zan Sayonara Zetsubou Sensei is the third full anime adaption after the original Sayonara Zetsubou Sensei, and Zoku Sayonara Zetsubou Sensei. Thirteen all new episodes are planned for this season of Zetsubou.

Yes, it is about that time! The PV didn't give us much, but at least Ootsuki's music is still in top form. Can't wait to hear to new theme in full.
 
They really kicked the animation up for that one, lol. Good stuff.

Opening, with obviously temporary footage in typical Zetsubou-sensei fashion. It's okay, but I suppose it'll grow on me.
 
Finally got to watch it for reals! The first part of the episode, where Nozomu gets locked up for being bad luck was undoubtedly the best. Obviously, the students all working together to get him out (violently) was awesome, and it was good for reintroducing all the characters for the new season.

Second part about Spring....things got pretty weird here. There were some fun bits, like the erabarrassing pictures ending up on the internet (we've all been there *cough* or maybe not). Also Chiri's "romantic message in a bottle" = Molotov cocktail.

Third part, oddly, enRAB on a cliffhanger. This isn't a series that prides itself on continuity or anything, so it's a bit strange. I recall them doing something earlier in the series with (false) cliffhangers, but this doesn't seem the same. Anywho, after the ending was a new Zetsubou-sensei drawing song. Abiru makes an accurate drawing of Zetsubou, Kaere makes an accurate drawing of... a tulip with lightning, raindrops, etc. Kaere is also horribly offkey with her singing. Foreigners...

Overall, it's a good start and I think we're in for a good season.

The finished opening! Or at least finished as far as we know. Anyway, good god they went all out! I have nothing else to say except....perfection.

I am in absolute love with the series. The new opening is all kinRAB of awesome. I know its a long shot but I want this show licensed and dubbed. It neeRAB a dub just for the fun of it.

That's... really, really random. Which is perfectly apropriate, seeing how this series is pretty much MADE of randomness. Awesome opening.
