Z500 enquiry

I had a Z500 in 2006 and at the end of my contract with Orange in 2007, I went to a repairer to unlock the phone (not knowing I could get that sorted out through Orange). It accepted other sim cards for a couple of hours but later just froze. At the moment when I turn it ON, it boots and freezes after about 15seconds, which is when my wallpaper and the rest shows up. However it never freezes when turned ON without a sim card. I took it back to the repairer then but all he did was refund me what I paid to get it unlocked as he couldn't work on it further.

Just thought I should ask in here if there is anything I could do to get the phone working normally again.

Hello there, can you possibly give me a step by step guide on what to do. I really don't know what to do with the codes you have provided and also don't know how to 'flash' it.
