Hello!

The procedure should be valid for a Z300 aswell. Successful flash will not change your IMEI.

I would recommend you to try http://www.anvi.it/forum/index.php?showtopic=20637 to find an appropriate firmware.

Z300MMEG1 or Z300AIEG3 would be a recommended choice but I cannot wouch for how clean the firmware is.

Regarding the language it seems like most firmwares contains many languages. But to be sure open the firmware files in a hex editor and search for the text strings.

You can use the original cable assuming it's the same kind of cable as a Z500. But it probably is.

Using the unlock codes did not change my Z500 IMEI. I cannot wouch for a Z300 yet they should operate the same.

Out of curiosity, what firmware is it that you currently have? If you type *#1234# on your phone it shows the firmware version, just post it here, someone may have it or know where it is.
 
what languages are available in this firmware?

Would be kinda bad if I ended up with a italian and english only, phone..
 
It is the firmware Z500BUEF5.

I know this one is somewhere on the internet, but I couldn't find it (the http://www.rapidshare.se does not work).
So because I could not find my current firmware, maybe I can backup it. But this is not possible.
I found a big package on the megadownload site, but this was very, very slow. But eventually I did this. So I have the firmware that is now already on my phone for the case the new firmware is missing some important things or when I don
 
Can someone provide me with a download with firmware to flash my z500 so I can get rid of the orange firmware i already have please, If there is still not an unbranded one I would prefer O2 as the have minimal branding . Many thanks

BTW, z500buef5 was the sw I had initially on my z500v, and the only thing I can see that you will lose when you try another sw (i.e rexnets unbranded one) is the ability to have/change themes, other then that though, the vodafone sw is quite ugly, I don't see why you would go back

I have also an other question. There is no bootloader file in the Z500BUEF5 firmware that I have. Is it possible to use the bootloader of an other firmware?
If no, does somebody have this bootloader file for me....
 
does anyone know how to edit the firmware so i can add my own java games to the file? or a work around to get java games working without paying to download them of a wap site.

You can try using Z500CVEG1 but it is a bit older than Z500BVEG3 (orange / tim) yet lot less branded.
