Hi!

Followed the guide in another thread down here and d:led the QIWS V1.16 prog. Managed to fix the db9-connector and everything seemed to run fine while using the prog until it comes to

"Searching SAMSUNG Modem..."
Then I get
"USB Port Open Fail"

Say what? - I can use the EasyStudio w/o problems via the USB-port
so why does this program fail????

Anyone got an answer? - I'd be most grateful!!!

/Mats

have you short cuted the pin 2 and 3 on db9 conector?try that and post result.

regards

Absolutely - see attached jpg...

I have the modem drivers installed and I use a short circuited db9-connector (pin2-3) as well as the USB cable that was included with the phone! - I start the IMEI Writer program, select
SGH-Z105U and [08]Sweden[Tla], then OK - and then I get to the screen that's seen on the attached image, then I press 'unlock' - and the result
is what you see on the jpg :-(

then change the phone model, there are z105,z105u and z105t.I had also one that was making troubles like this and I short cutted min 2 & 3 with tweezers after 2 sec when I press unlock. And as I see your phone is z500 and not z105 or you made a mistake in writing?

If you are using original cable for data transfer also can not be done.Use this picture
http://forum.gsmhosting.com/vbb/showthread.php?t=205313&page=2&pp=15 for making cable for it if you haven't made like this.

Yup, it's correct that it's a Z-500 that I have, but the program could
obviously be used for both phones as said in the thread
"Samsung SGH-Z500 complete unlock solution" in this same forum, because
it's from that link being mentioned in that thread that I've dl:ed the prog...

The virtual modem was the problem - my port number was set to #39 and if I hadn't heard about the problem that it had to be less than #10 then I would never have fixed it, but now case solved!!!! - lovely :-D

in 'service PC' after some time you have too many modems installed. after i erased old modems from motorola, nec, nokia etc i unlocked wright away that z500. hope this help all lazy people who don't fell like pressing fe keys on keyboard

Virtualone is right, just set the com port in CDMA Modem to a value less than 10, don't mind if the port is already being used
