I have been working on a 86? bw80 yamaha bike for my son to ride. i cannot get the bike to run correctly. it starts fine and on full choke it is great but turn the choke off and it stops running. I have run w/o air filter to see if it was an air problem. nope still stalls out. I have rebiult the carb and no clogs or dirt.

if i give it full throttle and choke off it slowly dies.
if u run full choke it dies a bout 3/4mi. down the road @full throttle.

u think it needs more air or fuel? does choke on. add more air or fuel?
air screw is 2t out.
i am in plymouth michigan elv. 212

I earlier had a problem where if u turn the throttle full and let go it would not slow down right away so i bent the floats a little to stop so much gas from getting in the bowl and it stoped the afterrun effect but this could be my new problem? not enough gas?

also there is an oil injection on this bike and i have it turned all the way down. almost off @ idle. if i add any oil to it it stalls @ idle. or runs crummy with throttle. is this right or is this clogged?

I would like to keep the bike stock. I do not want to drop any $ into it.

please help. Bob

I can't really answer your question but I can tell you that with the choke on it cuts off air and allows more fuel into the engine. As far as adjusting the floats it can make a difference on how much fuel is being fed into the motorcycle, the higher the level the more fuel, and the lower the level the less fuel. Also the bike will not run very good at all without some sort of restriction such as an air filter it needs a lil bit of back pressure to run correctly.
