Yu Yu Hakusho question

Specifically, it's the mountain where Genkai trains Kurama's little group of frienRAB during the final arc, unless I'm mistaken.

What have I always wondered about Yu Yu Hakusho? In the original animation of the opening, a little more than a minute in, it shows four girls in the stanRAB. There's Keiko, Botan, Yusuke's Mom, and some other girl who I just don't recognize.

Anyone know who THAT is?
 
That is supposed to be Shizuru, Kuwabara's sister. They changed her character design between the opening and her first introduction. It happens all of the time. Look at the first Death Note opening. Misa looks completely different in that compared to the entire series.
 
Actually, I think its the entrance to where the Ki Kai Barrier was broken, aka, where Yuseki was reborn as the Mazaku.

I don't recall ever seeing the outside of the area where Kurama trained the befriended demons from the toury.

PS Damn you for bringing this up. I might have to watch the series AGAIN.
 
Well the other thing is she does look more like that in the manga, where she has a smaller role. The first opening was making allusions to the Dark Tournament arc where in the manga Yusuke's mom went to but in the anime after the first anime season she was cut and replaced with Kuwabara's sister Shizuru. The rumored reasoning is that it was because both characters were very similar in personality, but to add to this Shizuru was given A LOT more personality in the anime (and even moreso in the English dub) making her a much more engaging character in the anime and in several points she had an active role (i.e. her interest in the bad guy from the Dark Tournament, the bug hospital, Sensui's attack on Yusuke's apartment, being there for Keiko during Yusuke's second death, and the final episode) than in the manga where she either wasn't present or Yusuke's mom was there. While I actually wish they kept Yusuke's mom at least for the DT (she has some FUN moments) I actually like how the anime fleshed out Shizuru's character and gave her more spunk than the manga did.
