For Symbian^3 Anyone use this yet? Instructions here... It's pretty good actually!

1. Use the phone’s native(!) WEB-browser, and go to: m.google.com (For example Opera Mobile won’t work, you won’t have the change to select Youtube)
2. You have to choose a language which is supported in the app(!). Choose for example: English(US)
3. Choose the Youtube icon to download the app to your phone
4. Install and enjoy!

Sry could be a nit clearer.. Go to m.google.com then click on YouTube and you'll see the installer! Quality is a little better and the app is a lot faster than browsing via the browser..

Shnarzan,

Greetings.

New version of a particular app available is not necessarily the same topic of a particular app is available. At least to me, I am not sure if slashdot is actually telling everyone there is an updated version of YouTube app available (no mention of the reference, Version 2.4.10, anywhere) or is actually sharing his "new" discovery of YouTube app available for S60 end-users.

Anyway, I do not use the YouTube app much because it often plays the relatively lower resolution .FLV format of the files even there are better ones in MP4 are available. Opera Mobile + the built-in RealPlayer seems to be better choice for me to play YouTube videos.

It is available for Symbian 3 which it wasn't before, I guess he could edit the OP and add N8 or S^3. On the other hand it had been posted already by Dr Tran in the N8 thread.

* sigh * Moving past if Nokia had a Youtube app before or not, here's the important question:

Does the updated app still give the "Network error message"?...

I've only tried it a few times but it seems to work very well. The video resolution was quite satisfying, it buffered quickly and played without issue on those few occasions.

Whatever the case may be, it's certainly better than the shortcut included on the N8 (automatically replaced when you install the app) and it's better than the older S60 version too.
