Youtube adds cartoons, legally

Hey, if they're going to crack down on user-posted copyrighted material, it's nice to see them actually offer an alternative. (Other than Hulu, I mean, which is the obvious impetus for this.)

It's nice to see Dilbert there. Pretty funny show that, like most prime-time cartoons debuting at the time, didn't last.

At least this one managed to get two full seasons with 30 episodes.

Dilbert had the misfortune of being on UPN (one post on the now-defunct jumptheshark.com suggested that Dilbert was at one point deat last in the Nielsen ratings when it was around. FOX would have done better).

This is a decent start. In fact, this will probably curb illegal uploads for these shows.

Why doesn't Warner Bros. make Looney Tunes available legally on YouTube?

It's really not that different from what was happening before, since lots of companies had their own YouTube channels where they'd have legal streams of various shows. It's just kind of nice to have them all gathered in one place now where they're easy to find.

I'm amused that Manga put up Virus Buster Serge, of all shows. And I'm even more amused that Johnny Sokko and His Flying Robot made it into the animated section.

There's a ton of shows on there that I want to check out and/or re-watch - Gundam, Yu-Gi-Oh!, Dilbert, X-Men Evolution, Sherlock Hound, Jackie Chan, Astro Boy (both versions), Bill and Ted and maybe She-Ra and He-Man just for kicks - so this is good news for me.

Because there'd be no reason for anyone to buy the DVD sets of Looney Tunes if they could just watch the shorts on YouTube for free.

There are almost 700 Looney Tunes shorts that haven't been remastered, aren't on DVD now and, since Warner Bros. has cancelled all future LT DVD releases, probably never will be. WB putting them up on YouTube officially would literally be the only legal way to see them in the United States.

Well it is too bad it is not uncut, since they cut out all of the product placement, mainly the Pizza Hut logo. But they added on stuff not included on the network version. I gladly trade some Pizza Hut logos for the directors cut.
