Your View on Flash Animation

I recently read this article about someone's opinion on Flash animation in which people responded with their own opinions.

What are your opinions on Flash animation?

Well, if cartoons were animated like the YouTube video "I Like Pandas" rather than things like "George of the Jungle" and "Out of Jimmy's Head", I would support it. But if networks keep using Flash as a way to down on budget rather than seeing what some Flash animations can actually do, then you're mainly cutting down on quality not on budget.

I honestly think Flash animation should be left to the internet. I'll give foster's a break since it's done beautifully (but also not 100% flash) I'm more of a traditional animation fan to be honest.

As a flash guy, if you may, I love playing around with flash codes and animation, but it is very true that to make a good animation, as well as a good website, you can't just use flash, or just use any one program for that matter. This is mostly because fluid character movement is pretty tough to do on flash, and one really must resort to frame by frame editing with many normal character movements to get them just right. This is why a lot of flash animation shows have that 'cheap' look to them, as movements, unless along a path, will often end up looking pretty lousy and unnatural.

Flash, though somewhat fluid, has two cons (to me):

-The animation looks stiff and limited (unless it's Foster's). The difference is notable on shows that initially didn't use Flash (such as Johnny Test).
-A computer lacks the "sincerity" of paper and pencil.
