1. Edward Elric (Fullmetal Alchemist) - I have a major crush on him. Always have. And he is dedicated to get his brother's body back. He is a hero to some people in the anime, and a hero to a lot of anime fans.

2. Hikaru Hitachiin (Ouran High School Host Club) - He is very devious and hilarious. He is very cute. Hikaru has always been my favorite twin.

3. Shuichi Shindou (Gravitation) - He is so adorable! He always tries to find a way to cheer Eiri up, which is really sweet. And his "costumes" are the funniest things I've ever seen!

4. Misa Misa (Death Note) - Cute cute cute! She is funny and very ditzy. The ditzy girls are always my favorite.

5. Miroku (InuYasha) - Pervert. But a cute pervert. And he really does care about Sango's feelings.
 
1. Lelouch Lamperouge - Possibly one of most smartest genius to harness the power of the geass. Absolute power with impeccable smarts.
2. Edogawa Conan - Junior Sherlock Holmes and the smartest kid with the brain of a highschool teenager that solves rather challenging mystery cases
3. Light Yagami - I'm a light supporter. Basically he turned one of the most deadliest kind of book to a weapon from manipulating people and which leads to controlling Japan. When light is around, you'll expect a psychological fight with L.
4. Haruhi Suzumiya - A very interesting and playful girl that loves to believe there are certain aliens out there.
5. Shana - Has the cute, stubborn personality and loves melon bun. Who doesn't like food? =3 And looks stunningly great in fiery red.
 
1.Grimmjow Jaegerjaquez (Bleach): Well cause he's really strong,tough, and hot. Also he displays little respect for authority and says whatever is on his mind, regardless of whether or not it is appropriate.

2.Ulquiorra Cifer (Bleach): He's strong and awesome. And his character design is quite amazing too.

3.Edward Elric (Fullmetal Alchemist): He's a person that never gives up, so that's pretty much why he's one of my favorite characters.

4. L Lawliet (Death Note): Cause he loves sweets!

5.Train Heartnet (Black Cat): Train is a lighthearted, courageous man who is highly skilled with a gun.
 
My fav characters are:

Usui Takami (Kaichou wa maid sama) : He knows what he does, he's good in everything, and he is very funny :P
L Lawliet (Death Note) : He's just very cool, and sweet. He has no privatelife (only as a policeman) and he walks, eat, and hold things very cute, he's very different than the usual guy.
Hei (Darker than Black) : The normal human being knows him as Li, a very sweet and innocent boy, but actually he's very violent and fight a lot with other contractors. He's strong, and his eyes look cool.
Sawako (Kimi ni todoke) : She's a very nice girl, and very innocent, she's for the smallest thing happy. And this is what I like about her.
Zero Kiryuu (Vampire Knight) : He's really nice, but hates vampires (even he's one himself), so he's in a lot of pain. And his personality is very good developed. He says he wants to kill the girl he likes, but still protects her, that's what I like about him.
 
very hard question so if you dont mind, in no specific order:

5. Alphonse Elric (Fullmetal Alchemist): couldnt have ended up in a more awesome suit of armor. so badass! really strong morale to achieve his and his brothers goals. honorable even in the face of the enemy. doesnt need to eat, sleep, drink, etc; his body is entirely metal. kicks so much ass he doesnt need a weapon.

4. Nara Shikamaru (Naruto): brilliant tactician. his only "flaw" is his lazy, laid-back, romantic, stare-the-cloud-all-day lifestyle. never wanted anything more than to be left out of everyone elses "troublesome" ways and responsibilities. "what a drag..."

3. Naota (Fooly Cooly): shy, aloof kid who constantly carries his brothers baseball bat as a momentum. eventually he DUAL WIELDS two guitars as blunt weapons; one of which is a gibson flying V and the other i forget. what other character wields a guitar, let alone dual wields two as blunt weapons?

2. Chopper (One Piece): super versatile humanoid reindeer! i always liked humanoid animals :o among various forms, his smallest cutest form is the smartest of all, and then theres his hulking brawler form but thats just the beginning! if he pops one too many pills he loses control and turns into this gargantuan raging beast! sent chills down my spine when i saw that. i swear... plus hes the ship doctor of an honorable pirate crew of all professions, a doctor?!

1. Prince Ashitaka (Princess Mononoke): he rides this big awesome red elk thats really loyal. cool mount screw horses! screw dragons! gimme a big rare elk! and he was already godly with a bow and arrow to begin with but then his arm is accidently infected with a curse and he gains hellish strength; for example he can amputate arms and decapitate people with an arrow :O and if he runs out of ammo, he can catch the enemies mid-flight! bwahahaha!!


ok i put em in order afterwords. lots of other characters i love though. :P beat that!!
 
#5) Jin Kazama (from Tekken) He's very serious about martial arts and always gets back up again even when he's been backstabbed or jumped by people like Heihachi and Kazuya.
#4) Son Goku (from Dragon Ball) He likes to train and eat a lot and like me loves to make friends with other people and look for new sparring partners.
#3) Himura Kenshin (from Rurouni Kenshin) He fights for justice and always tries his best to defeat an opponent without killing them.
#2) Ayane Mitsui (from Ayane's High Kick) She does Kick Boxing like I do. Plus with her red hair, she's almost like the female version of Kenshin.
#1) Baki Hanma (from Baki the Grappler) He's just like me, he trains hard at martial arts just to test himself in sparring matches and likes to try different styles of fighting.

1. Yagami Light - Death Note
Why? Because I like he is very smart, and i like his evil laugh and dramatic writing
2. Ulquiorra - Bleach
I like Emo people. JK, actually because I like his "unemotional" personality.
3. Kurama - Yu Yu Hakusho
Hes smart, Hes a fox demon dude, and because of his calm personality.
4. Haruhi - The Melancholy of Haruhi Suzumiya
She doesn't care what others think and never gives up.
5. Temari - Naruto
Because shes pushy and is like a miniture Revy from Black Lagoon.

2. Kira Yamato (Gundam Seed/Gundam Seed Destiny) sticks to his ideals and while fighting can still be compassionate
3. Cagali Yula Atha (Gundam Seed/Gundam Seed Destiny) she pilots the only fully gold Mobile Suit :O plus she is pretty and a great leader
4. Minato Namikaze (Naruto) great determination to defend his village from any danger in the end giving his life to seal the 9 tails inside his son to protect the village later on when his son grows strong enough to control it
5. Lelouch Vi Britannia/Lelouch Lamperouge (Code Geass/Code Geass R2) through his determination to make a more peaceful world for his Sister Nunnaly he takes the hatred of the entire world onto his own shoulders so that his death would bring about a worldwide peace

this list is basically a tie for 2nd place... only Inutaisho really stands any higher in this list for me XD
 
I have so many favourites, in no particular order:

1. Gaara (Naruto Shippuden): I like him a lot better in the Shippuden series. His attitude and how he he can control sand and his awesome jutsus. He had a sad childhood so I feel pretty bad for him. Go One-Tailed Shukaku!!!
2. Lelouch vi Britannia (Code Geass): How he sacrifices everything for his sister, Nunally and for her sake, he was the most hated person in the world. His death brought world peace and I think that that's an incredible thing to do. (I like his eyes~)
3. Zero (Vampire Knight): I just love him! He's a cool and quiet type (my type). Don't hate yourself!
4. L (Death Note): He's very odd and I love how he sits and his cravings for sweets.
5. Cagalli Yula Athha (Gundam Seed): She's not a girly-girl and I like her determination to make the right choices.

Light Yagami (Death Note) - because of the brilliance of his character's psychological depth
Harima (School Rumble) - such a hilarious character
Edward Elric (FullMetal Alchemist) - an interesting character albeit a tad cliche
Kamina (TT Gurren Lagann) - really the only reason the show was good [spoilers]killing him was the worst idea ever [/spoilers]
Rock Lee (Naruto) - fell in love with this character ever since he took off those leg weights in his fight with Garra.
 
The more people like something, the more people are bound to dislike it (LOST, World of Warcraft, Kingdom Hearts, etc). It's just one person's preference against yours. That's really the only way to answer your question.

1. Zero Kiryu (Vampire Knight) - His cool, calm demeanor is just so addictive, I swear I think he is the only reason I watched that anime, then when he changes to an r-tard it kind of lost its touch

2. Chika Akatsuki (Zombie-Loan) - I just love the concept of his existence. Anyone who can take their hand off goes down in my books as awesome

3. Hikaru Hitachiin (Ouran) - He was certainly my favorite character from that show. I don't really know what it is about him but I honestly fell in love with him. After watching the anime I was totally convinced that I had to name my child Hikaru

4. Light Yagami (DeathNote) - He should be on everybody's list! Anyone who can be such a face-melting mastermind and keep it hidden for so long needs to exist in real life

5. Kyo Sohma (Fruits Basket) - I still don't know if I like him because he sounds exactly like the "greatest freakout ever" kid on Youtube or my strange obsession with cats but I was rooting for him the whole way through
