None of these are in order:
Kira Yamato (Gundam Seed) This character is so real to me, like most of my favorite characters. He was just a normal teenage boy who one day found himself in trouble and was forced to become an adult within hours. No matter how hard things became for him he always toughed through it in order to save the happiness of his friends. All the while he wasn't emotionless, he cried just as other humans do. He also didn't like to kill, friend or foe.
Soujirro (Rurouni Kenshin) I was also going to put Kenshin in the list but decided to skip him since he's already on so many. Anyway, Soujirro is just an all around cool character. He learned to wield a sword and erase all his emotions, and become a ruthless killer with mad skills. It's not that he wanted to, just what life brought upon him.
Inu-Yasha (Inu-Yasha) Just goes to show you that every bad*** as a soft side, and no matter how strong you are, your emotions are stronger. He kept trying to pretend that he didn't love or care, but no matter how hard he swung the Tetsaiga, he could not cut those feelings away. His character showed that even a half-demon could love, and the further prove the point he became fully human every once in while. He even had the human-like challenge of choosing between two females he loved.
Trowa Barton (Gundam Wing) To me Trowa was always the mysterious character. You could figure the rest of the GW pilots out after watching them a few episodes, but Trowa isn't that easy. From the beginning he came in without a name, but chose to go by the name Trowa Barton. In this anime a man named Trowa Barton had previously passed away and he was famous with riches beyond riches in his name, one of the most well known figures in the world. So why did Trowa choose this name if he truely did not want to be in the attention of others, like he said? It's because he lied. Trowa tries to act cold and emotionless, like he doesn't care, but deep down inside he really does. Thats why later in the series he becomes close Heero, the guy he had most in common with. Trowa, the boy with the blank face, but the heart full of emotions.
Shikamaru (Naruto) The cool laid back guy. He worried me at the start of the series because I figured that he might get someone killed with not taking anything seriously, but he proved me wrong. He turned out to be perfect for the leader role, and always took the safety of his friends seriously. Just goes to show never judge a book by it's cover.
