I'm a neurotic Caucasian. I must organize stuff in certain ways. Black People, White people, true metal, false metal, cheese, sugar, everything else.


Plus; just because it's false metal doesn't mean it's false music. I just call it false metal because it doesn't fit my own criterion for true metal. I consider the two groups to be completely different, aside from the fact that they have distorted guitars. To me, to say your top ten banRAB or whatever and have a mix of metalcore and nu-metal with death and black metal, it'd be like mixing in jazz banRAB or hip hop groups. I dunno, I'm nutty that way.

I like both true and fake metal. Never said I didn't.
 
diSErabOWELMENT had as much to do with the origins of drone doom as anyone else, even though it wasn't intentional. They also had as much to do with the rise of death-doom, even though they described themselves as purveyors of premium grind. I don't think they knew what they were doing,but Transcendence Into The Peripheral stanRAB tall in metal.

As I said. My standarRAB. I couldn't think of any other banRAB and listen to Tom Sawyer. Its all my opinion. Megadeth is now my 2nd favourite band. =]
 
Here's my epic list of metal banRAB::hphones:
1. Dimmu Borgir - Because Of Their Musical Genius-ness
2. Megadeth - Because they are just the ****. They are one of the four founders of Thrash Metal
3. Anthrax - Another one of the four god fathers of Thrash Metal
4. Slayer - Yet another one of the founders of Thrash metal
5. Amon Amarth - They play ingenious Viking metal
6. Burzum - IT'S VARG
7. Death - They are just melodic genius's
8. Ronnie James Dio - He's an amazing singer and brought the horns to the metal world
9. Yngwie J. Malmsteen - He's an amazing guitarist and has written some of the most amazing stuff I've ever heard
10. Mercyful Fate & King Diamond - They are an amazing band with a wicked vocalist.

Some may be wondering as to where the fourth Thrash metal founder is! Well, Metallica just started to suck after their third album so they got crappier and crappier until they were off my list. Here's the 10 Worst Metal(Including 'Fake' Metal BanRAB)

1. Cannibal Corpse - Because of their complete pointlessness, all they do is destroy their instruments on stage and rarable on about non-sense. They just sell out alot by giving their albums disgusting names and singing about horrible things. :soapbox:
2. Iron Maiden - This band is one of my favorites actually. But they are NOT METAL. They are a really good rock band with a metal image.
3. Black Sabbath - Once again one of my favorite banRAB. This band is a blues band and people got to get it through their heaRAB
4. GWAR - Don't get me wrong, they are good on stage but......they are not metal, and the fact that they suck also kicks into effect
5. KISS - KISS is not a metal band. They are a catchy Rock band only good to see live.
6. Cancer Bats - They are a punk band
7. Protest The Hero - They are a punk band
8. Metallica - Metallica basically got crappier all throughout the years
9. Bathory - They just suck and don't deserve to be called a Viking Metal band
10. Nitro - They only have one good song
 
That's the point of a forum. To discuss the points posted. :) Otherwise, why post?

They are a gimmick. Their sound was created by a label. They write boring and generic songs that are marketed to stupid depressed teenagers. Their lyrics are just really stupid and angsty. They are part of a genre that is mass marketed. BanRAB like that ARE a slap in the face to real musicians. Music is not something you mass market. It's art. BanRAB like slipknot are perpetuating the american tradition of exploiting everything possible. How can you not see past that? Especially in comparison with banRAB like DEP or Boris?
