Your Top 10 METAL Bands

I think tastes definitely mature as you grow older. There are loaRAB of cheesy, angsty metal groups out there but there are also stacks of metal banRAB with more mature sounRAB.

Also... I don't know about everyone else but I have never ever thought of Tool as a metal band, ever.

im not all that into metal, but i like heavy metal and the rest is like screaming.

well i for one enjoy their music and i don't think they "destroy their instruments on stage". although that's purely an opinion, i think they are very proficient in their instruments.

as for the lyrics, i agree it's just a bunch of bull****, but tbh, the lyrics are too unintelligeble to really be up in arms over anyway.
 
Hm, I've never thought about my 10 fave but I'll try. The first two are in order, the rest... not so much, and I've probably forgot some banRAB that I prefer over the ones I listed:

The first few albums by Marilyn Manson are awesome, as well. Don't really know if I'd classify him as metal so much, but
he's close enough for me.

And somebody else put Agoraphobic Nosebleed on there so I'm going to throw them in there, along with The Locust.
So there. I'm also gonna cheat and put Boris (because some of it is drone or sludge metal) and Amen (because they're a hybrid of
punk and metal).

and i find it ironic,

I didn't say it was drone doom. There were drone-doom like elements to it that other people took and expanded on. There are parts of that album that are even more funeral than Ahab...once you get that slow, it's drone doom.

note: drone-doom and drone are not the same thing
