These are in no particular order

1. Blood +: This is on my list because of the story line. I've never read anything or watched anything quite so unique. Also the animation is well done and the character development was brilliant. This is one of the few shows I can watch both the dub and the sub happily. Both set of voice actors is amazing.

2. Shakugan no Shana: This is on my life also because of it's unique story. There isn't a dull moment in this show, and I even enjoyed the filler episodes as well. It's a great mix of comedy, romance and action. And the animation is absolutely stunning as well as the phenomenal music to the show.

3. Black Lagoon: Many of my posts have raved about this show and now I'll explain why. This show is simply hardcore action. The fights are extremely well done, and luckily there's one every episode. The story isn't that unique, but the way it's told is unlike any other show. Also it is more realistic and true to life than most series. Simple put, its an amazing show...with guns.

4. Black Cat: Black Cat is a very entertaining show to watch. It is at times a very dark anime but at other extremely funny, so you never get bored. The animation is very well done and it's a very interesting story.

5. Phantom: Requiem for the Phantom: I absolutely loved this show. It was a very modern up to date show (released in 2009 so really recent..) that took a look at the angles of the crime underworld and it's inerworkings. I really liked how the main characters were introduced, and their character development. The fights and animation is beautiful. The music to the show is also great. This show however, for some reason is extremely confusing and hard to start, and it's not really a complex story but it's just confusing in the beginning.

6. Fullmetal Alchemist: This is one of my favorite anime, and always will be. The story of this show is unlike any other and keeps my attention throughout the entire series start to finish. The fights are simply amazing and so are the characters. For this anime I prefer the english dub simply because some of the humor of the show is better represented through english voice actors, which is a phenomenal cast. FMA is action packed but with everything else thrown in there.

7. Noein: Noein was possibly the most confusing show I've ever watched. It literally makes no sense, but for some reason I understood it the entire time. It's such a unique story and once you get into it, it's easy to follow. The character styling is very different from any show I've seen and its executed very well. The animation, though inconsistent is very well done and the fights are great, especially in the last few episodes.

8. Sword of the Stranger: This movie is nothing but amazing. It has a sort of sketchy story but its great. The animation and fight scenes are some of the best I've even seen and the characters are extremely intimate with the story line and are easily likable or hated. It's a beautiful story with great animation.

9. Elfen Lied: Elfen Lied is a dark series and sort of depressing. It's extremely gory and sad. But I love the story and the hidden romance entwined in it all. The animation is great and despite it's rather disturbing storyline, its a wonderful series.

10. Avatar: The Last Airbender: This is the only kid show that I will watch, partially because the voice actor for Ang goes to my school, but that's besides the point. This show has so much humor and is really fun to watch. Also the animation is really well done, and the series is well put together. You really get a feel for the characters and their individual personality.

Since I've recently changed some things (and added some 0_o), my new top 10:

1) 5 Centimeters per Second - I'm not claiming it to be the best thing out there, but this movie affected me more than anything else. Relatable themes.

2) Clannad -After Story- - Watching this while it was airing probably only added to the experience. I was extremely moved by it for months, with one episode a week.

3) Haibane Renmei - Quality-wise (as in, absolutely excellent at every single aspect, plus some more) the best show I've ever seen, hands down. Watching this 2ep/day while discussing it with others only added to the experience.

4) Spice and Wolf - My absolute favorite if it comes to ambiance, which is a huge factor for me if it comes to enjoyment of a series. This is also the show I've rewatched the most, by far. Nothing heavy, but extremely enjoyable.

5) Welcome to the NHK! - Just an incredibly good show about all kinds of society problems in modern day Japan, all told from the perspective of a delusional hikkikomori. Also, one of the best conclusions ever ^_^

6) Serial Experiments Lain - With mindf*ck shows like this one being favorites of mine, Lain couldn't possibly be left out of my top 10. Very thought provoking, interesting mystery and even a touching story. Instant favorite of mine.

7) Grave of the Fireflies - My favorite non-romance drama. It shows the cruelty of humans after WWII in a very realistic way. There are no villains, only victims in this movie. So sad :*(

8) Kino's Journey - Awe-inspiring in its simplicity. A show about traveling, the ugly and beautiful sides of humans, the sanity and insanity out there, this anime was beautiful as a whole, and the only show so far that left me absolutely dumbstruck after the final episode for a good while NOT because of an emotional punch.

9) The Twelve Kingdoms - Best-fantasy-adventure-ever period. Fantastic character development, great execution of the plot that is a combination of political themes, traveling and action/adventure. Simply fantastic (and here I thought FMA would remain my favorite fantasy show)

10) Mind Game - A movie that combines crude drawings with abstract art, the most amazing car-chase and a story about identity and growing up. I KNOW most people won't even touch this because the screenshots look horrible, but hey, their loss, this movie has fantastic art, and you won't realize it until you've seen it!

Extended list is here.

1. Cowboy Bebop. Has the perfect mix of music, action, romance, comedy and adventure to me.
2. DearS. Explores the complex emotions between aliens and humans, on a level I can relate with.
3. Big O. Batman Meets Gundam Wing. Need I say more?
4. Ghost in the Shell SAC: A very awesome cyberpunk anime with great characters and lots of nice action!
5. Wolfs Rain. Great story with lots of twists. A very wild and touching adventure between shape-shifting humans who can turn into wolves, on their quest to find a home in a world that fears & hates them.
6. FLCL. Chicks dig it dude, pwn!
7. Chobits. Similar to DearS, deals with feelings and emotions between humans and non humans. In this case, persocoms (Cute Robots?)
8. Trigun. Vash is a happy go lucky, donut eating gunslinger. This world is made of LOVE AND PEACE!
9. Blood+. A pretty unique story as far as vampires go. Interesting characters and a love story thrown into the mix. There's a lot of back story to help keep the series going until it's sad ending.
10. Gunslinger Girls. For the psychological issue it deals with. Child soldiers that kill, more ruthlessly then people who are in jail for murder. A very sad anime.

1. Dragon Ball Z- I just can't get enough of this show! I own all of the Seasons 1-9 plus all the movies and specials. This was the first Anime that I ever watched, and what got me into Anime in the first place. If you like fighting, fast-paced action, and loads of fun... This is your show!
2. Early Naruto- This show from seasons 1-5 was my favorite show after DBZ. But then... It got a little bad. But, the first 5 seasons were the best. Great story, great characters, and great plot. Check it out!
3. Full Metal Panic: Fumoffu- Even though the show only lasted 12 episodes (*edit*) a slated season, I still loved it. Action, and Comedy mainly, check it out!
4. Spirited Away- This movie blew me away! I absoloutly love this movie to death. I also first saw this on Toonami. It's a great film, it tops every other in my book. I find it very very relaxing when i watch this movie. I would HIGHLY recommend you pick this up.
5. Howl's Moving Castle- This movie was OK. I still liked it, but it thought the voices were a poor choice... Christian Bale? *vomits*. I don't recommend rushing out and picking this one up though.
6. Yu-Gi-Oh- I guess you can call it Anime, this was the first cartoon/anime i ever watched. Well, next to DBZ. I kinda liked it, then it started to suck after season 6 and 7.
Final. Bo Boboobobobo- This anime was pretty cool. Other than the fact that it has no real point to it. lol. But still, it passed the time. Take a gander, if you like silly anime!

:P

1) Fullmetal Alchemist Brotherhood. Epic, epic storyline from the manga of a master storyteller.
1) (tie) Maison Ikkoku. Another amazingly well written storyline, a love story completely different from FMA, but great nonetheless. The last 12 episodes or so are a masterpiece.
3) Elfen Lied- subversive and haunting.
4) Welcome to the NHK - never quite seen anything like it.
5) Fullmetal Alchemist (2003) - not as good as the manga, but considering what they had to work with spun a very good story nonetheless.
