Your thoughts on meditation? posture and other stuff.?

Hello all, Luther here.
I am fairly new to meditation. I used to do it on and off as a teen, but recently I have started to practice seriously on my own. I have a few questions, my main one right now is about posture.

Originally I took to meditating on the floor. Now I meditate whilst leaning against a wall. I feel that you should be relaxed as much as possible while being aware. trying to maintain a posture makes your body stiff meaning your body is not actually relaxed as you are using muscles to very subtly maintain that posture.
what are your thoughts on this?

Now, about meditating,
There are a variety of ways to meditate. sometimes one is to just go with your thoughts, don't control them. another is to focus on the breath, which is my main. As I try to 'feel' the breath i find that a thought pops into my head of me breathing! which defeats "trying" to clear your head of your thoughts. I've decided to not worry about this and just go with it but then I feel I am focusing on the thought of me breathing instead of the breath.
anyone else get this problem battling with themselves!? lol

Lastly while reading up on meditation and everyone's experiences, everyone seems to be having some trippy occurrences during meditation. here's food for thought: is it possible these events people come across are actually dreams? one can be aware and dream at the same time (lucid dream) but I suppose if one is truly aware one can tell the difference between lucid dream and something else entirely. I suppose I'll just have to experience myself if it even happens.

Thank you in advance for any responses.
