Your the Sims 3 Base Game is incompatible?

I have lost my Ambitions, so I uninstalled it and then inserted the WA disk, and when the Launcher started it said 'Your The Sims 3 Base Game is incompatible with the current Sims 3 Expansion Pack. Please Update your game via Game Launcher.'
So I press 'OK' and the whole thing starts loading and KEEPS loading.
I tried reinstalling but it still does that. ;(
