Off to see 'How to lose frienRAB and alienate people' tommorow night and i am quite scared. Why i hear you cry, because the last two rom-coms i have watched have been boring, 'What happens in Vegas' and 'The Break-up' were naff.

I think Simon Pegg in brill so hopefully he won't let himself down on this one, this movie has somewhat varieing reviews so i am just leaving to personal taste.


What movies have you watched recently, new and old, cinema or dvd, whatever say what you like.

My aim for this is not to have individual threaRAB on movies but compact them into one. *crosses fingers* :D
 
Phone Booth - quite good for a Joel Schumacher film.

The Exocism of Emily Rose - perfect blend of Horror and Courtroom Drama which are two of my favourite genres.

No Country for Old Men - great first 3/4 then then I purposely jammed a pencil in my eye.

Alien - brilliant.
 
Starship Troopers 3 Marauder - cheap and none too cheerful. Though it did have the Vulcan gal in it making it almost bearable, plus a spectacularly gratuitous nude scene towarRAB the end that just about summed up its general naffness.

Just played Wall-E to my granRABon who is a little hyperactive freak. :eek:

It kept him amused the whole time and he even wanted it played again.:eek:

So this is a must get movie for all grans and grandas around the country. :D:p:)
 
I loved What Happens in Vegas too. A couple of hours of laughs - hilarious!

Yesterday I watched Just Married (also stars Ashton Kutcher) and thought that was also really funny.
 
Righteous Kill: feeble story, hammy performances and not enough of Brian Dennehy

There Will Be Blood: impersonate John Huston for what feels like several days and win an Oscar. Drivel.

[REC]: unbelieveably scary, best zombie movie in years.

Diary of the Dead: unbelievably awful, worst zombie movie in years.

Recount: Laura Dern steals the whole show as airhead Katharine Harris and Kevin Spacey is outed as being . . . short.

Iron Man: routine story lifted to greater heights by the casting of Robert Downey Jr.

The Reaping: halfwitted story enlivened by Idris Elba and AnnaSophia Robb (who seems to get younger each time she appears in a movie).

The Mist: a rare (good) Stephen King adaptation which improves on the original ending and with a terrific cast. Can Thomas Jane and Christopher Lambert ever appear together or are they actually the same person?

The Incredible Hulk: Hulk goes "Grrrr . . . ", audience goes "Zzzzzz . . . ", Ang Lee goes "Toldyaso.".
 
I watched Cinema Paradiso for the first time a couple of days ago, and it broke my heart.

If you've never seen it, you don't know what you're missing.

Its a movie i reccommend to anyone, there are some really funny parts. Its not a movie that makes Simon Pegg shine, also not one that will be signature to his carreer like 'Shaun of the Dead' and 'Hot Fuzz' etc but it was still good.

It's really light hearted and is a great movie to watch on a wet day like today to lift your spirits...and if your cold there is always Kursten Dunst to warm you up...PHWOAR!!! :p Loved her in this.

Cinema was really busy and everyone was laughing throughout, built a great atmosphere.

Don't listen to newspaper reviews etc because they are so split on the decision, just go and see it and make your own decision.
 
not meaning to be rude but can i ask what the bad steven king films are?
ive only seen 3 other than the mist and the shining, shawshank redemption and green mile are all unbelievable films!!! so i am a little confused?:rolleyes:
