Your Most Hated Song

No, but there's obviously a difference between what's socially acceptable between men and women. It's not about being sexist, just what our society reflects on as moral or immoral.

It's a crime against humanity that a song like "Damaged" by that ****ty group P Diddy made up gets radio play. I hate that song so much...

"Girlfriend" by Avril Lavigne.
Firstly, I hate her. Mostly because she seems like she'd be a tool in real-life... all the stupid clothing, ego-stroking about how punkrock she is... ugh. I usually try to not let the personality of the artist affect my opinion of their music. But she just does it to me. I guess maybe it reflects the kind of girls I wanted to stab in the face in High School.
Secondly, it might just be the worst song written - lyrically & musically. She literally rhymes 'precious' and 'princess' & 'better' and 'finger'. Not to mention that its a rip-off from other songs... anyone remeraber "Mickey"? Even that was an annoying song. Ugh.
Lastly, this seems to be the anthem of all blood-sucking bitches who want to steal boyfrienRAB. Thank you Avril for being a terrible influence on all of your angsty airhead fans - with their Hot Topic wardrobe and pathetic music taste.

I actually disliked it when I first heard it not long after it came out. Granted, I was only 9 or 10 at the time... but I certainly heard it a lot through the years... and although I can appreciate general musicianship more now than I did back then, that still hasn't changed my general opinion of it.

And I like a lot of older stuff. Even other cheesy 80's & 90's shit.
I just don't like that song and I never have. There doesn't have to be a rationalization to negate my opinion just because you don't agree with it.

Snow Patrol - Chasing Cars. - Most painfully boring song ever written. And then it'd be some of this new **** coming out e.g scouting for for girls, the ting tings, the hoosiers. These God awful British accents are killing me.

To me NWA lines like "I'll slap you up side yo head wit 9 inches of limp dick" are pretty big red flags that the lyrics aren't meant to be taken literally or particularly seriously.

Do you think John Carpenter endorses psychos in halloween masks stabbing people to death simply because he made Halloween? Do think Francis Ford Coppola endorses mob violence because he made The Godfather? Do you need specific statements from them that they don't support those things or do you just assume they're just telling a story and not necessarily endorsing the behavior of the characters? If you answered no to those questions, I'm curious why you'd apply such a different standard to song lyrics.
