So yesterday I was thinking about the very first motorcycle I ever had. I looked it up on line and wow the picture brought back so many memories.

The year was 1983 I was 8 years old and my first moto was a 1980 Honda Z50R. I rode the wheels off of that thing. My brother replaced the rings like 3 times and when I turned 12 years old (1987) I finally blew the engine...hahahah, But at that point I knew I would always have a motorcycle in my life! And have had one ever since.

The rest is history!

Everyone remembers thier first, Post pics!

Here are the specs, and pics of my first moto.Like the previous year, it was available in the one color: Tahitian RedThe fuel tank has the word "HONDA" and a flying wing above itThe number plates on both the left and right side had the decal "50R" on themThe chain guard was chrome but the fenders were painted redThe grips were black and the plastic levers were silver aluminumThe engine was a 49cc OHC single cylinderIt had a 3-speed transmission with an automatic clutchThe saddle had a red "Z" on each sideThe serial number began: AB02-5100007

Not counting the no-name "custom/modified" trail bike i had at 13, the "72" Suzuki T-500 was my first bike. I rode it to school every day it didn't rain, I'd like to say the girls were impressed but they called me the "plastic fonz"....whatever that meant.

Okay, so I don't have the cool history of riding like some of you do. I only started really riding back in 2002. I rode random dirtbikes and a friends old 250 Ninja back in th 90's, but that doesn't really count. I started riding because my girlfriend rode, and still does. She had a Suzuki GS500E when I met her. Yes, my girlfriend is the one responsible for me getting into riding! I rode that GS a bunch, and it got me hooked. She now has a 600RR as well.

My first bike was this '92 Kawasaki Ninja ZX7. Got it at the begenning of 2003 with 8300 miles. Sold it in 2006 with over 26K miles on it. Here is a pic of it right before I sold it. I loved this bike! Now (as usual) regret selling it. It made a great rain bike, and I rode it for 3 years straight, rain, shine, or below freezing temps, because I didn't have a car. It wasn't light by any means, or super powerful, but was a great all around bike with some good mid range, cool styling, and was plenty quick. I rode the wheels off of this bike. I wouldn't mind finding a '96 ZX7RR one of these days to add to the collection to replace it.

My very 1st was a nighthawk 450 back in 82.
promptly replaced by a V65 Magna (well, the next year)
Promptly replaced by a GS1150EF+GSXR750RR Limited Edition

All sportbikes since then.

A 1967 BMW R69S bought used in 1971. It had about 24,000 miles on it to which I added another 75,000.

Broke one clutch cable and a push-rod. Had the rings redone once and broke the kick-starter off.

Oh wow, I used to lust for that bike! I had that poster on my wall, and The CBR F2 was another street bike that would just make me drool! I was a Junior in high school when those came out.

At the time I had my 1990 Kawasaki EX 500 it was my fisrt street bike, I was 16 and the ONLY person to ride a moto to school not to mention the Only girl at that.

I think it's awsome your woman rides

I won't count the "Fox Doodle Bug" mini bike...... at 15, I bought a brand new '77 Kawi KM100 , got my license on it , and rode it for 2 years , before replacing it with a '78 KE175 ..... had a LOT of bikes since then, the most interesting was an '86 NS400R two-stroke triple...... View attachment 11298 (not mine, but just like it)

My 1098 replaced an '04 GSX-R 1000....Cheers ! Les
