Star Trek and Transformers 2 are the best movies I have seen this year. Watchmen was awful, Wolverine was disappointing, The Hangover wasn't as funny as it looked in the trailers, and Terminator Salvation was just a bit boring.
 
I don't believe there is ever a poor year for films, you just got to look in all areas of film. Every year there are amazing films and rubbish films.
 
So far....and in no particular order but all films I'd go and see a second time:

Slumdog Millionaire
Knowing
Star Trek
The Hangover

They were all films that surprised me - I wasn't actually expecting a lot but came away having really enjoyed them.
 
I do not follow movies as i do with TV and Music

The only movie that has been a highlight for me this year has been

Changeling

I know that was released last year but it was released this year on dvd.
 
Just got back from the cinema after watching Transformers 2, it's so good.

Mark Kermode is way off the mark with his review, this film is much better than Terminator Salvation and I thought better than The Watchmen.

I haven't seen star trek so I couldn't compare this with that film.
