Your favourite movie soundtracks??

Sunshine is my favourite of the moment. Of course it was delayed forever and then only released on iTunes due to legal wrangling. I managed to get hold of a FLAC version of an early promo copy, still can't believe it isn't out on CD.

I really like Billy Goldenberg scores. 1970's movies and TV was his main output and along with Columbo he scored 'Duel' with Dennis Weaver. Rhythmic, sparse and almost vocal in style his music adRAB tension and conveys the feeling of the film very well.

Agree with lots above. I also think Carlito's Way, The Harder they Come and Boogie Nights were good.

John Williams is a true genius of themes/soundtracks. Jaws, Star Wars, Indiana Jones, ET (lots of Spielberg I guess). Play any of these scores and we all what movie it came from and even remember the scenes..

Musically I believe the early BonRAB were also great, up to about the 80s perhaps. John Barry is a genius too, his best of compilation album is fantastic. He's responsible for loaRAB of amazing stuff in films and TV.

Lisa Gerrard is also very good, seems to have worked a lot with Hans Zimmer. Gladiator, Black Hawk down.........

The Neverending Story soundtrack is my alltime fave

Just FLAWLESS and all of the tracks (other than the main opening song) are just scores with no lyrics

Cinema Paradiso
The Deer Hunter
Apocalypse Now
Lawrence of Arabia
Mean Streets
Pulp Fiction
Grosse Point Blank

Edit: Oh and I forgot the Wedding Singer. I think I love Adam Sandler's "made up" songs (Love Stinks etc) as much as the actual 80s soundtrack.:D

Hans Zimmer has written some fantastic scores - Inception, Batman Begins and the Dark Knight with James Newton Howard and, Gladiator and, my favourite, King Arthur. The film may have been pants but the music was out of this world.
