Ong Bak

Remember him in "Enter The Dragon" ? (credited as Yang Sze - he played Bolo)
Sammo Hung was also in "Enter The Dragon" - he fought Bruce Lee in the opening scenes in front of the monks.

One of the greatest movie fights ever filmed !
The part where Bruce lays Chucks' gi jacket and belt over his dead body is very poignant I think.
I love the nunchaku fight in the alley in 'Way of the Dragon'
"Dragon seeks path. Dragon whips his tail" ! Brilliant !!
Bruce Lee fans have even visited the Colliseum to find the exact place where they fought - not realising they actually fought in a film studio in Hong Kong !

The best martial arts film I've never seen - ie missed my seemingly one and only chance to do so  - was when BBC2 showed the now-unobtainable The Butterfly Murders about 15 years ago.

I think that the most complete MA film would have to be Crouching Tiger. Decent plot, good actors, breathtaking action, all beautifully shot. thoroughly deserving of the oscar(s?).

I love those parts too. The part with Bruce laying the jacket over Chuck's body also shows Bruce's philosophy IMO, even though they were fighting to the death, Bruce still takes time to pay respect to a fellow human being.

I watched Game of Death 2 last night :D OK its cheesy but it has great fights - eg Kim Tae Jung v Lee Hoi San (Magnificent Butcher) and Hwang Jang Lee - brilliant :D

I don't know about "Worst film ever" - I was an emotional wreck where the elephants were concerned !
If I ever see a film where beautiful animals are threatened in any way, I go to pieces !
Astounding fight scenes.

Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon

Great screenplay and acting, engaging characters, and wonderful cinematography. Typical of Asian cinema, the ending is 'balanced''. It's sad, but at the same time uplifting.

Hero

The film has a very interesting structure, again the acting is great, in particular Jet Li, who is so much better acting in his native language. The cinematography in this film is superb and is key to the structure/plot, so it doesn't feel 'pointless'.
Again, it has that asian sense of balance - sadly lacking in Westerm films where the 'good guys' always win, and the baddies always 'lose'.

the story of ricky oh.gory film for the genre.
The once upon a time in china 1 to 3 with jet
li.

red cliff 1 and 2.ip man 1 and 2.
ong bak is great.

You're all wrong.

The 2 greatest Martial Arts movies are....

Kickboxer and BlooRABport

"Game Of Death"
Not a bad martial arts film, but some of the thing they did in that !!
A cardboard cut-out of Bruce Lee's face in the dressing room with Hugh O'Brian:eek:
Awful "cut-ins" of the real Bruce during stand-ins fights !
During the locker room fight with Carl Miller (Bob Wall), there is a glimpse of Bruce from "Way of the Dragon", with a BRICK wall in the background. The locker room had pale grey walls !!
BUT...when the REAL Bruce Lee action starts in the restaurant with Danny Inosanto etc - WOW !!:eek::D
BRILLIANT STUFF !
