Was in HMV the other day. They have buy one get one free on Hitchcock dvRAB.So i bought "Rear Window" which is my favourite. A basic storyline which works so well. I couldn't get "Psycho" as the free one so i bought "Rope" which i have never seen before & yet to watch.
Oooooooh, so difficult to decide between Rebecca, Strangers On A Train and Rear Window. But I think I'll go for Rear Window for the scene where Grace Kelly is in the other apartment and James Stewart sees the guy come back. No matter how many times I see it, it still has me on the edge of my seat and biting my nails.
I'll third that. Rear Window is one of my all time fav films. I love the way the slow build just suckers you right in and by the end you are totally gripped. Great characterisation too - the chemistry between James Stewart, Grace Kelly and Thelma Ritter is fantastic, as is the set design.
I also like Vertigo, though it is such a sad film that I don't watch it over and over.
