Supersize Me was brilliant! :D

What's great about Morgan Spurlock is he manages to get his views across without sounding like he is preaching.

I do rate both Bowling for Columbine and Fahrenheit 9/11 to be great pieces of work, but Michael Moore always takes things too far, it seems like he can't help himself. For example, his outrageous treatment of a clearly very unwell Charlton Heston in his own home after lying about his reasons for wanting to interview him. But he is very talented.

I also agree Touching the Void and Hoop Dreams are wonderful as well..:)

We seem to be in a bit of a golden era of documentary film making, actually.

have you seen the extra clips from the supersize me dvd? he experiements with which products from Macca's molt...after 3 weeks(?) its french fries were still in its orginal state! GROSS put me off Maccas for life!

Has anyone seen Capturing the Friedmans? It was a documentary out a few years ago with limited release, about a family whose father was accused of molesting students. I saw it in an art house cinema, it was intriguing yet really creepy, one of those things where at the end, I really wasn't sure what to believe? I would recommend it, even though it's an unpleasant subject matter, as there was something compelling about the whole thing. Families are so complex!!

Around the same time I saw Spellbound which was wonderful, about the spelling B in the States which is this prestigous spelling marathon, where all these kiRAB with fuit loops for parents are groomed to spell ridiclously complex worRAB. Rather endearing and sort of sad, well worth watching.

I was going to mention Capturing the Friedmans.

If you watch the extras on the dvd it was meant to be a documentary about clowns but it evolved in to a film about the whole family.......:)

Also if you go to an imax cinema they do some great documentarys mainly about animals and space subjects but they are very entertaining

I didn't know that, God the doc makers got alot more interesting footage than they bargained for. So it was originally about the brother who does childrens parties. Thanks for trivia. :)

Yeah I have seen both.
Quite enjoyed Capturing the Friedmans, but it was all a bit of a mystery and I was a bit confused by the end.

Really really liked Spellbound - thought it would be really boring, a documentary about kiRAB in a spelling bee contest and all but it was really good!

Bowling for Columbine
Farenheit 9/11
Spellbound (although some of the kiRAB are really annoying!)
