Christmas doesn't begin in my house, until I have watched National Lampoon's Christmas Vacation. When they go out to choose their christmas tree, my family say that is me. The Griswold family were based on my family and although I am female, Clarke Griswold is definitely the character most based on me.
Alas for the past 3 years I haven't had a real tree, but when I did, it always was enormous and half the furniture had to be moved to fit it in my living room.
Then late Christmas eve, when I have finished preparing all the veggies etc, I sit back and watch It's A Wonderful Life on dvd.
I normally watch Scrooged at least 4 or 5 times at Christmas but also love National Lampoons Christmas Vacation and The Santa Clause. I watch as many Christmas films as I can at Christmas, I get a new one bought for me every year by my girlfriend which we watch on Christmas Eve.
Don't really have a favourite, and the cliches of It's a Wonderful Life, etc pass me by. Good films, but suicide doesn't make me feel as festice as it used to.
My girl actually made me watch Love Actually last night, and while it wasn't a very good film (all those actors, wasted on such a mish mash of average script  ), it did get me in a more christmassy mood.
There are only two films which mean christmas is here for me. The Bill Murray double bill of Groundhog Day and Ghostbusters, every year.
It's not really a Christmas movie but I highly recommend Bad Santa with Billy Bob Thornton and Bernie Mac. It is also the wonderful John Ritter's last film. Watch it, it is bloody hilarious.
i have too many to mention, plus most have been said. white christmas and it's a wonderful life are 2 must see ones, also scrooged and christmas vacation. There are so many good ones out there.

Only one of the best films you are likely to see. Don't think its on this christmas though (not according to my TV Times christmas edition anyway).
