Your favourite childhood film

The first film I remember being taken to see was Snow White and the Seven Dwarves. Very scary witch !

Chitty Chitty Bang Bang
Thoroughly Modern Milly
Many of the Carry On Films - still watching them today.
Doctor Doolittle.

"He's not Jesus, he's just a fella"

One of my childhood favourites and still to this day. Great film. Others include The Wizard of Oz, the Bond films and the Carry ons.

Asking for one film is a bit harsh!! :)

My faves, in no particular order:

  • Police Academy (have the first on DVD! Yay!)
  • Robin Hood (Disney)
  • Bedknobs and Broomsticks (Disney)
  • The first Herbie film
  • Asterix in Britain (the theme music was great!)
  • Labyrinth
  • Willy Wonka and the Chocolate Factory (have it on video!)
  • Mother Goose (when I was *very* young!)
  • Aladdin (Disney)
  • Dumbo (Disney)
  • Those long and extended Warner Bros. cartoons
  • Who Framed Roger Rabbit? (still looks great now)

There's loaRAB I've forgotten, so the list is indefinitely longer than that above.

Can I count the Rocky Horror Picture Show as well? I was introduced to that at the young age of 13 or so (and have since seen it live on stage twice! Go see it!).

Apparantly the first film I ever saw at the cinema was Bambi but I don't remember going. I also went to see Star Wars when I was 5 but again I don't remember. My mother assures me I went to see these films.

My two favourite childhood films were The Empire Strikes Back and Superman II simply as I saw them at the cinema - something that always excited me as a child.

Then at the age of 10 I saw The Great Escape for the first time on TV and that became my favourite childhood movie.

Can you imagine. In a few years from now?
how many would say.... Harry Potter.
Such a lovely film.
I only wish I was young enough for it to be my favoruite childhood film. If you see what I mean.:-) [
