So I'm writing an article for my school magazine about healthy foods in different restaurants. I'm also doing this at my school, but I seriously need more opinions because I haven't eaten at all the restaurants and I def don't know the menus well. Soo if you eat healthy or have a favorite healthy food at a specific restaurant, write the restaurant's name and then the menu item beside of it!!!

As long as you list the menu item(s), it can be anywhere from a fancy black-tie/evening gown place to something fast food, or even something you make yourself - just leave the recipe :)

& if you can, then tell why it's healthier than something like a cheeseburger or something.

thanks a TON!

First avoid anything organic for reasons below:
1 Added costs.
2 More likely to get food carried diseases such as e-coli or salmonella

Second avoid items which do not include all food groups which means you have eliminated vegetarian

Do not eat the same thing over and over such as McDonald's fries.
Remember one serving (even super sized) may be good but two or more is not.

Also note if you eat a 1,000 calorie lunch of carrots and brocolli you won't lose or gain any more weight then if you had eaten a 1,000 calorie Big Mac.

There are other things you might consider. If you want to eat healthy you usually eat at home. When you go out to eat you do so to enjoy yourself. So if the food does not please you or taste good it is meaningless that the food may or may not have been healthy.
If you are still hungry after eating out it may not be as healthy as you may think. Psychologically it may be bad for your health.
Remember moderation.

Take a daily multi vitamin along with fiber tablets and you can splurge once in awhile when you eat out.

When I go out to eat, I don't do healthy. I only do healthy at home. Going out is a treat for me as I don't have to cook. Here's my favorite at home recipe that's healthy (has oil, but good oil in it)

Puttenesca Pasta
I can't give you full details, but I will give all ingredients
Sundried Tomatos (diced)
Roasted Red Peppers (diced)
Garlic
Capers
Anchovy Paste
Barilla Pasta Plus
extra virgin olive oil

Mix when hot, refridgerate and top with parma cheese when cold.

The pasta has extra protein and omega 3s in it. The capers and anchovy just gives it salt. My family eats it cold or hot with salmon fillets.

Good luck on your article.

chinese food is generally healthier than american food.
it doesn't contain as much fat as american food
i suggest you can make a summary of food of different countries
and do some contrast work
