I don't think Silk was ever all that popular.
But I still want to see it.

Oh A Walk to Remember is another favorite of mine as well.
Anything Nicholas Sparks is amazing and so worthy of your tears, too.
;)

I also really love Memoirs of a Geisha.

Atonement was so good -- both the book and the film! Kiera is amazing in anything she does, I think. I don't think I have seen Silk or heard of it...

A Walk to Remember is another really great romantic movie, just in case I have not already said so.

Pretty Woman, The Notebook, Titanic, Pride and Prejudice ... all pretty obvious.

I just adore all the romances that Kiera Knightley has done so far.
I wish she'd do more of them.
She does an amazing job playing a romantic female lead.
It almost seems effortless for her.
Atonement is just amazing.
I read the book before I saw the film
and I wasn't disappointed with either.
That movie also makes me cry like most hopeless romantic films do.
I really want to see The Edge of Love also.

Oh and has anyone seen Silk?
I saw the trailer for it and it looks really good.

-Tina-: I haven't seen While You Were Sleeping but I'll be sure to check out that one as well.
Thank you.
I plan to watch The Blue Lagoon when I get the chance.
They have the whole thing on YouTube.
:)

You've Got Mail!

Thought in fairness, i've never seen PS: I Love You. But if it's anything like the book then i'm sure it's a tear-jerker.

I love You've Got Mail because
1) I LOVE Tom Hanks
2) I love the fact that book stores are involved
3) The competitive nature of little book shop versus corporation
4) Was one of the first to use e-mail in such a sense, I think?
5) He knows before she does and he gets to know her as a friend
6) Central Park!

I love that movie for the same reasons!! In fact it's one of my favorites, I totally forgot to mention it!! I love the way Tom and Meg interact, they're just incredibly cute together :in_love:

Agree about that, too! Awesome film!!

I also forgot to add City of Angels. That movie made me cry so much. I love it.

I also like Sleepless in Seattle and You´ve got a Mail, cause Tom and Meg are just adorable. and Robin Hood with Kevin Costner

I thought I wouldn't cry watching PS I love you but I did tear up a couple of times. :bawl: But the ending is so hopeful and cute.

LindsayLovely. - What a beautiful post! Great movies too!

Notting Hill - This movie is so funny, Ive seen it like a thousand times and I just love it.

The Notebook - Such a beautiful romance, Ryan Gosling and Rachel McAdams did great jobs and their chemistry was undeniable.

Atonemen - Heartbreaking!

Music_Is_Love There's a quite a bit of violence but you can shut your eyes :P Plus there's a happy ending!

J.R. MacReady: I watched it last night, and I think it was a wonderful movie. I thought Josh did an awesome job playing Donald!  Thanks for listing it!!

LindsayLovely.: Great post! I love Pride & Prejudice. It's just a fantastic movie! :sigh: I've seen all the movies you've listed, and they are all wonderful in their own way! :) If you haven't, I am sure you'll enjoy While You Was Sleeping with Sandra Bullock and Bill Pullman. :D

I am thinking of checking out Love Story! :)

Moulin Rouge---one of my favorite movies ever not just in this specific genre. The music is fun, the directing is fabulous and the love story is told to such perfection by Ewan and Nicole...Just love this movie.

Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind
The concept of this movie is sad, hopeful and romantic. Just the idea that you could wipe all your memories of someone away but still somehow, someway find a way to still meet that person again---Destiny, fate all of that. Romantic definitely.

Lucky.
:)

I would love to see the play.
I'm also dying to see The Phantom of the Opera play.
Maybe someday . . .
:sigh:

"Shop Around the Corner" I love how they fell in love through letters, but had to learn to understand one another in person

"A Walk in the Clouds" I love how they help each other understand what's really important

"While You Were Sleeping" my favorite romantic comedy that shows that your family is important to your relationship too
