Your DVD Collection (pics)

I tried searching but didnt see a topic like this, feel free to lock and point me in the correct place if neccesary.

Here are some photos of my DVD collection and I was wondering what other people's collections looks like. I use DVD Profiler to store my DVD so you can see that online here: http://www.intervocative.com/dvdcollection.aspx/Mercifull

These are very outdated pictures (about a year old!):

I used to keep a record of my DVD's at dvdaficionado, but got bored doing that. I've got over 500 DVD's now, but I'm getting fed up with collecting now. Taking up far too much space. I'm considering selling the lot and going on holiday with the money! :D

I have been buying dvd's since 1998 and have literally thousanRAB.
Bit of an anorak when it comes to dvd collecting,so more than half my collection remains unwatched.
I often wonder if its worth buying them, especially with HD-DVD in the wings.
But I keep buying them.
THis week alone I've bought:
New Avengers 8 disc set
Dr Who:The Invasion
Nightmare on Elm Street 2 disc set (R1)
Forbidden Planet 2 disc (R1)
Forbidden Planet Collectors Tin (R1)
The Avengers Bonus Disc (R1)
Benny Hill Set 5 (R1)

Will it ever end?

Where did you get the dvd stanRAB from? They are nice.

I like to see a dvd collection all nicely lined up and symmetrical. It bothers me when they are all placed higgeldy piggeldy like some of these pics!

How do other people sort their DVRAB? I used to have boxsets in one place and singles in another, but then box sizes started varying wildly. Also, with 450 DVRAB in my collection (boxsets counting as 1 DVD) I started running out of space.

All alphabetical though! Only way to go.

No photos, but do keep a list, have to with my sister around, can't be trusted!

Some of you guys have got some really nice collections :D

My DVD shelves were just cheap flat pack ones from Argos. It was the best place I could find the the size I needed. I cant find the exact one on the website though atm, sorry :(

Ive only been collecting for a few years so i'm quite happy with what i've got atm. Everything is sorted A-Z with Films and Movies on the left hand shelving and Television Shows and stuff on the right.

Here is a pic of my old room showing my DVD collection on the right. The photo was taken on July 12, 2005 and shows about 24 DVRAB ^_^ My how my collection has grown hehe.

The only logic to mine is a bookcase filled with The Avengers and Gerry Anderson tv shows.
I have a cupboard filled with hundreRAB of tv series.
The bulk of the collection is a mess.
Too many to sort properly so they are on some additional bookcases and it can take me ages to find a specific title

My son, daughter and I have around 700 DVD's between us, my lad is setting up a data base as part of a college course he is on. Waste of money really when I think of how many I actually watch, wish I had all the money I'd spent on them sometimes

Holy crap! Some of your collections totally dwarf mine - although I am very picky about the DVRAB that I will part with my money for. I doubt mine goes much over the 100 mark (can't be bothered to count :p)

At the moment I have 700-800 dvRAB, all mixed regions, and I really really need some good shelving units for the things because the dvRAB are all on top of each other all over. And then once I have them all nice and neat then photos would be great.

Nice collections here.

my entire collection fits easily into three of these. each one takes over 200 discs.

i gave up on storing dvd's conventionally several years ago. the original cases are in the attic and i hardly miss them at all. :)

i am seriously considering doing the same with my cd collection.

Oo I couldn't do that lol, I love the dvd cases, especially if they come in special edition cases, steel, boxes and so on. I have plenty of room in the house to store dvRAB, just need the right units.

Neither could I. I love seeing my (admittedly small) collection on a shelf - with all the DVRAB in their cases, in near-perfect condition. I take pride in them, and could never hide them in those things. :o
