Your Deepest Musical Secret

I listened to Katy Perry's album the whole way through when it came out?

I hated it, but I still stuck through the whole miserable thing.

I don't know though. I've kind of buried all my musical secrets.

You're forgetting the Blues Brothers - one of the best films of all time :D

Other than that musicals irritate me to no end. Watching the Sound Of Music or Calamity Jane has that nails-on-a-blackboard effect on me.

Now, staying on topic (and speaking of musicals) I found Give My RegarRAB To Broadway vaguely interesting too :o:

I like a few crappy Metal banRAB such as Soil and GoRABmack for some reason. I would call them easy listening-seriously. Easy to listen to. Not much attention needed and there's a guitar on it!

I sympathize. I think that happens a lot. When I was in my teens I was in this crappy metal band with a group of guys whose taste in music was pretty much limited to the Metallica to Led Zeppelin range. They weren't very receptive to my ideas about trying to go in other directions but it was fun while it lasted. It wasn't until I got into my 20s that I started working on music with people who had a broader musical vision.

I suddenly realised something a couple of days ago.

When listening to Math Rock I have absolutely no idea what I'm listening to that makes it Math Rock.
I understand the concept about what it is if I was to read about it, but i'm fucked if I can hear it in the music.

That's my secret confession for today.

Don't feel too bad, I really don't get the whole Bowie thing myself, I see where there is craftmanship to his work, I see where has tried to experiment and do new and different things, but god damnit, i just can't get into the stuff he's made - I tried too!

Or maybe its just the horrible memories of his whole commercial "Let's Dance" eighties period haunting the back of my mind when I hear his voice... Or that cover version of "Dancin' in the Streets" he did with Mick Jagger and someone elese... who was that mysterious third person?

I sort of like the Eagles too. I mean I don't think I'd go out of my way to listen to them but I've never understood why they're so hated.

I've only noticed 'proper Punk' fans spew Green Day hate, I think the general consensus amongst people on here is they like Dookie but don't really care for much else.. I might be wrong but that's how it seems to me.

I don't, either. Hell, the only one of those that I actually enjoy listening to is Hendrix, it's just that I don't like him enough that I can be bothered to go get the little he did.
