ok so i have 1 adult pair and 6 of their 6 month old babies in a 20 gallon tank ( no comment on the tank being too small because its fine). i use the adult pair to breed, and feed the babies to my oscar and jack dempsey. but i kept 6 babies ( 3 female, 3male) . they are all nice size (but not as big as the parents yet).one of the young baby females i'd say is about a good inch if not bigger and shows dark stripes and alot of orange on the belly just like the mother. lately the young female ha been gaurding the pot i the tank and so i picked it up and there are 4 little eggs. im used to these fish and there breeding but why only 4 eggs and the only one she lets come near the pot is her father from my adult pair??
