Hello! I'd like to see if any of you have any good products that you recommend for stress acne. I am a young female adult with corabination skin. I have dry areas of my skin and need to use moisturizer, but get a little bit oily on my forehead/nose during the day, so I use blotting sheets for this. I have the oil under control with the use of these sheets. I tend to get flaky skin around my nose, so I use a microdermabrasion product at home to help with this. It also helps keep my skin softer and smoother.

I still tend to break out, especially around my hairline. I work out often, so I wash my hair every day. I don't use any hair products around this area. I do use a serum, but only at the bottom half of my hair. I do tend to wear ponytails/buns to work a lot, so this may put some stress around the hairline. My hair is pretty long and thick, so I just can't stand to have it down and in my face when busy at work.

I deal with anxiety and get stressed pretty often, and I know it contributes to my acne. I take Prozac for my anxiety and feel great overall, but just can't get the acne under control. Neutrogena Stress Acne Control has worked well for me in the past, so I am going to try it again. I hope it helps this time around too. The glycolic acid in the products seemed to help a LOT. Benzoyl peroxide doesn't work too well for me and salicylic acid is only so-so. Are there any other good products that may work for me? I remeraber using a chemical peel product at home once and it was amazing, but I don't remeraber what brand it was! It was a pretty gentle one, nothing harsh. I haven't tried alpha hydroxy acid, but thought that may be good too, since other acidic products helped so much. I've tried a lot of the more popular acne skincare lines without much luck. Most of them are too drying as well. I need to moisturizer at least around my eyes. I break out even with all oil free products. I really just need something meant for acne AND moisturizing.

Meanwhile, I'm going to try the Neutrogena ones, but if any of you have similar skin and found something good, please let me know! I appreciate all help!

I've started using Clean & Clear Advantage foaming facial wash with salicylic acid, and Clean & Clear's acne moisturizer. So far I have noticed an improvement. It just seems that even with clear skin, I need to keep using preventive acne products rather than just going for regular products. Hopefully one day my skin can stay clear without them! I use mineral makeup and oil free products. I just use another oil-free moisturizer around my eyes and in any dry spots since the Clean & Clear one isn't one to put around the eyes.

Hmm, the hardest question to ever answer! :dizzy: If someone did have the answer, they'd be famous.
IDK, I have a daughter who swears by Proactiv? Have you tried that? My oldest used it until she got married and I told her she had to buy it herself! Now she'll use her sister's extra mask, toner or moisturizer as her sister doesn't use them every day and they can pile up. Can be a bit drying.
I used to have mild acne and now just very occassionally. Over a year ago I started taking Omega3 and think that really has helped my skin. It is not too oily and not near as dry as it used to be. Beginning to balance out. As its good for your heart, I see a very dramatic difference in my skin, nails and hair! But as I said, I feel my skin has changed for the better, IMO.
Worth a try. Nothing to lose. Good luck.

I've tried many for Acne and i now only use Serious Skin Care Dry Lo
This works for me and so glad to have found it.
It works over night, that fast. Very seldom do i ever have to use it anymore, it works that good.

Hope you find this helpful for you cause it sure has for me.

I wish I knew what would work. I'm in the same boat. I'm 31 and in the past 6 months or so, acne has taken over my face. It's so frustrating and erabarrassing. I have corabo skin too - very oily in places (forehead and nose), yet dry in others (around the eyes and mouth). I work out a lot too, and you'd think all the sweating might detox the skin and get rid of all the impurities that can cause the breakouts - not the case here. I think that might be what's making it worse, but I'm not willing to give up the exercise.

I've tried Proactive twice - didn't work either time. I tried a couple of acne kits from Sephora - neither worked - that goodness they have an excellent return policy. I've tried Neutrogena, Clean & Clear, and others that you can get over the counter at Target/Wal Mart. Last week I saw my doctor and she gave me an r/x for Benzamycin - all its done so far is DRY out my skin big time. I can't even use it twice a day like the box says.
I read about the Omega3 in Fish Oil, and how it's helped some people with acne, so I started taking that last week. No change after 1 week - but I know I need to give it time to work.

Since I'm 31, I'm at the point where I'm developing fine lines, so the drying acne products make those worse too - even on areas of my skin where I don't apply the acne meRAB. If anyone out there has something that works, I'm all ears!!!!

Today I ordered Aveda's acne care system - Outer Peace. Should arrive in a few days. It's the most expensive yet, so maybe it'll work. I'll post results in a few weeks.

Thank you all for your replies! My skin was actually greatly improving (I was using a moisturizer by Clean & Clear with salicylic acid, as well as benzoyl peroxide treatment for pimples), but then it all went downhill this weekend! I was wearing a thicker makeup that doesn't really keep my skin clear (for a bridal photo session- I am getting married in less than a week!), then I fell asleep with my makeup on, and woke up with new breakouts! Yikes! Since I hadn't been using benzoyl peroxide in forever, it's been helping, but it does make my skin flakey in the areas that I put it on. I want to try a lower concentration, such as 2.5% rather than 10%, next time around. I use the salicylic acid moisturizer all over my entire face, and then a more moisturizing lotion in dry spots and around my eyes. As long as I am VERY good about washing my face every morning and night, and using makeup that doesn't make me break out, this is the best it's been in a while. Right now I'm using Merle Norman mineral powder foundation and love it. It gives a luminous finish, yet not shiny at all. It's perfect because my skin had been looking so dull lately!
