You Thought Persepolis Had The Best Foriegn Language Film Oscar, Didn't You?

This disappoints me, as I'm currently reading the books (over half way finished with volume 2). It really is a wonderful work, and I would hope the movie would do very well.
 
Actually, I think it's for the best, since normally there are many foreign films out for nomination and keeping Persopolis in the animation category gives one more foriegn film a chance at U.S. recognition.
 
Had it been nominated for an Oscar, it would be at all theaters under the "Oscar nominated films we ignored all year long until the nominations- Select."

But who cares? it goes for the film that plays off the most liberal guilt anyway. The biggest tearjerker... that sort of stuff. I don't want to get into the hypocracy of that, though.
