You sue someone in state court. The military permanently moves you to another state....

...What can you do? Say for example you are stationed in NYC. You sue a friend who also lives in NYC for X dollars (not sure if amount plays a role). While in the middle of the suit you (or both of you) are permanently relocated to a different states. What happens then? How do you continue with the suit?
