Md. man charged in battle ax attack

A Frederick painting contractor is charged with slashing an employee in the forearm with a medieval-style battle ax.

Forty-four-year-old Andrew Scalera faces a preliminary hearing Aug. 24 into the incident early Monday morning. He didn’t return calls to his home or business Wednesday.

The Frederick News-Post reports that the victim told police he was doing some paperwork at Scalera’s house when Scalera accused him of stealing quarters from his bedroom.

The man says he denied the allegation but Scalera became enraged and choked him. He says Scalera then went back to his bedroom and returned with the ax.

He contenRAB Scalera hit him with the weapon as he was trying to spray him with pepper spray.

Court recorRAB state the 2-inch gash chipped a bone in the victim’s arm.

My point is that conservatives often criticize these incidents because the victim didn't have a gun to defend himself, when they are not even looking at the actual problem, which is the aggressors owning the gun in the first place.

Conservatives don't criticize such incidents, but do generally cite them as a good reason why gun rights shouldn't be infringed, so that you have the right to defend yourself with a firearm against such criminals.

I think conservatives would also agree with you that the problem is that criminals own guns. Their solution is to get criminals off the streets if possible, and arm yourself against them to avoid becoming a victim.

You said you don't want to limit the right for law-abiding citizens to arm themselves, so it sounRAB like you fully agree with those you labeled 'conservatarRAB', no?
 
Well since all they do is wish and not actually have done a damn thing and more innocent people die at the hanRAB of criminals with guns, then I am still right.
 
Potential victims owning guns does address the problem. It's called equalization of force. if you outlaw knives over 4" in length, the aggressors aren't going to care. They'll acquire long knives on the black market, or they'll manufacture one themselves. Since it isn't possible to unlearn mankind of the reality of guns, the logical alternative is equalization of force- give the victim the same power as the aggressor.
 
it was probably some cheap ass sheet metal repro, an authentic battle axe would have taken the dudes arm off and he would have leaked to death
