Hey Billy checking in with you since we haven't heard from you since your doctor's appt. on Tuesday. I hope it went well and he was able to answer your questions.

I have my doctor's appt. tomorrow in Nashville with the surgeon and I have started my list of questions. I found out today that I have a tear in my meniscus in my left knee and have to go see an Orthopedic surgeon on Monday. I knew I had a small tear 3 years ago but they said it is bigger now so we will see what the doctor wants to do with that. I really want my back to start feeling better too.

Let us know what you found out, please.;)

Take care

good morning "MOMA BEAR".. sorry that i did'nt respond after my doctor's apt. on tuesday , I had to pick my bro/in /law up as well on tuesday{he's doing much better by the way}.. Getting back to my doctor - I saw him Tuesday & he basically said there is "NOTHING" TO WORRIE ABOUT !!!!!!! He took a couple x-rays of my back , and said that my fusion lokks solid as a rock.. We spoke about the severity of my spasm's , and that i was very worried last week when they happened.. He said that having spasm's (even the one's had that knocked me off my feet) are not to uncommen.. When the barometric preasure drops / damp weather / or OVER DOING it can trigger them with out warning..

He also want's me in physical therapy now , twice a week - along with my walking.. I told him that I have been walking about 1 1/2 to 2 1/2 miles 4 days a week , and he was very happy with that ! My next visit will be 8.22.08 , and a week before I come in to see him - he wrote out a script for a cat scan.. I hope you are doing well Linda , and best wishes with your knee baby steps for you esp. HAHA..

Also I received my last state disability check yesterday , and they gave me a nuraber to call for vocational rehab.. I called the nuraber , and actually spoke with a very nice woman that gave me very very usefull INFO : She said that I will be ellgable for unemployment because I got termanated from work , so that is a `moNkEy off my back.. The other good news is that - she said if were interested in looking for a new carreer they could help me.. I have been a carpenter as long as could remeraber , but with my back the way it is it's time to open other doors.. So basiclly i can get paid to go back to school (i'm waiting to hear back from a counselor for more info) - think my next path is to be a drug or alcohol counselor - or to help troubled teens.. WE will see `MOMA BEAR` - - HOPE YOU HAVE A GREAT WEEKEND AND TAKE CARE OF THAT KNEE OKAY..

BILLY BOY

Hey, neigrabroador...
Hope it's OK that i came in to talk to both of you.

Kyma, good luck with your app. Did you have a knee surgery before? I had 2 of them on my right knee and now need a replacement. So my heart goes out to you I know how not easy this is when your knee in pain and limitations are bad too!

I hope they will be able to help you. Tear they usually fix doing laparascopy way, so recovery is not too bad or long.
Please let us know how did it go for you...

Best of luck!:)

Billy,
I can't believe how great this is for you that you called them. You will be able to get that check and go to paid vacational school. I think it's so greate to look forward to something so nice!
I am glad you are doing better and that you are able to walk for so long: to me it's a good sign, man!
Keep up with a good job and take care!

Hey Billy Boy now you knowww Moma Bear neeRAB to be informed about your doctor visits. It sounRAB like the normal responses from the doctor on your spasms. Is your insurance going to take care of the physical therapy? I am so glad to hear that your brother-in-law is doing so good. I am happy for your sister and nephew and you too!!

Well I hate that your state disability ran out but glad that you are going to receive unemployment. You know Billy maybe it is time for a life change on your occupation and you are young enough to make a new start. I always wanted to be a nurse but never made it and I don't see me doing it now at the age of 59 1/2. I think you would make a great counselor you sure have experience with your brother-in-law.

I went to the doctor today and pretty much got the same responses from mine but I will make another report on that.

Moldova you just jump right in because the more the merrier--right Billy? I have not had surgery on my knee before but my rheumatologist has stated for over a year that I am bone on bone in both knees so I don't know what this surgeon will suggest. Should they only fix the tear if I am also bone on bone? I am new to all of this. Both knees are hurting but they only did the MRI on the left because it was the worse. It is very painful, in fact, my daughter thought I had a blood clot when she saw how swollen it was and the pain I was having. What kind of surgery did you have on your knee? I figure I will be looking at knee replacement but maybe not.

Well you both have a great weekend and I will give everyone an update on my doctors report from today later on. I am worn out since I left the house at 7:00 a.m. and just returned at 3:30 p.m. I am going to rest.

Take care

Hey Billy,
Like I used to tell my kiRAB...you can be and do anything you set your mind, but more importantly...set your heart to do. This is your opportunity to make something positive and good out of a rotten situation. You go get 'em my friend. Education is something that NO ONE can ever take away from you. So take advantage of every chance to learn. OK, I'll stop with my "Mom" lecture now. I'm sorry that the awful spasms may happen again but at least your "pictures" look good. Like we all have to do, you'll learn what triggers them and hopefully be able to avoid those triggers. Have a good rest of your week-end. Glad the brother-in-law is doing good. He's lucky to have you.

Deb

Billy,

I don't know you but...hi!

Take advantage of those programs! My brother in law lost his job after being with the same firm for 10 years and PA gave him full vocational re-education benefits. Basically, they paid his schooling to become a respiratory therapist (he had a choice of career paths) and paid him full unemployment during the entire thing.

Glad to hear your fusion is solid! Mine is 5 days old and hopes to grow up to be as solid as yours :D
