You know what the healthcare/insurance industry does everytime Congress seriously

discusses healthcare costs..? They SUDDENLY, MIRACULOUSLY find a way to lower their cost to everybody!!!
They did it in GHW Bush's day with PPOs - and they did it again at the start of the Clinton White House, with HMOs.
THEN as soon as the heat dies down - they triple everybody's prices and go right back to DENYING COVERAGE AND DENYING CARE!!!
We CAN'T REFORM THEM!!!
They are private companies and can do whatever they want! That's why we need a public option for healthcare - then anybody who wants private care can have it, but the public will have choices.
Is anybody here mature enough to remember this besides me?
It's what they're going to do this time too - you can set your watch by it.
That and forcing the TAXPAYER to pick up the cost for any insurance risk they take from now on. Sound good?
It's called Price Fixing - all the major insurers do it together - and it's ILLEGAL!!!

You have to keep in mind that you are trying to educate people who STILL believe all the lies that the insurance industry put in their TV ads and the Reubs on the hill confirmed. These Idiots do not care about the truth ! They hate Obama more then they love their country or "Thy Neighbor" The press has been exposing the lies told by the likes of Palin and Rush Limpballs, But they only watch the Fux net work and news paper are out because they cant read!

I remember it. The insurance corporations are a Trust. And the only way to bust up a Trust is to force them to compete. A public option is the only way to do that.

The insurance corporations are all united. Anyone can see that. They have formed a Trust that John D. Rockefeller himself would be proud of. And Teddy Roosevelt would be screaming about.

Obama screwed this whole deal up man. He should have started out by calling for a single payer system. And then negotiated from there. He probably would have wound up with a public option, if he had done that. And the republicans would be declaring victory.

Instead he showed everyone his hand before the game even began.

If the dems don't pass health care reform, with at least a public option, this time. I'm done with them. They're not going to lead me around with a promise they never deliver on, like the republicans lead their airheads around with the promise to ban abortion.

I remember '93 and the assurances the insurance corporations made, very well.

So your answer is those who make something of themselves, get more education, work longer hours etc, get to pay for the healthcare of those people who won't do those things?

Don't you wonder why Congress is exempting itself from Obamacare? Doesn't that give you at least a slight pause?

A slightly raised eyebrow at least?
