...Brno, Czech Republic. That'? You find yourself walking in the garden of the Augustinian Abbey of St. Thomas in Brno, Czech Republic. That's when it hits you: This is the very site of the experiments of famous geneticist Gregor Mendel!

It so happens that you have a copy of Brother Gregor's manifesto, Experiments in Plant Hybridization, right in your pocket. Reading through, you learn that Mendel's theory predicts that 25% of the pea plants in this field should be yellow.

You seek to verify his findings with observations of your own. You decide to randomly sample 580 pea plants from all across the huge garden, and you find that 160 of them are yellow.

Do you feel that Mendel's prediction of 25% yellow pea plants is too low?

1.Clearly state the values of all parameters, such as: x, n, p0, q0, and p-hat.

2.Clearly state the null hypothesis H0, and the alternative hypothesis HA.

3.What four conditions must be satisfied to use the Normal distribution model? Explicitly verify that these four claims are satisfied in this problem.

4.Explicitly calculate the standard deviation of p-hat.

5.Explicitly calculate the z-value. Include a sketch.

6.Check your work with a calculator. What P-value does it give?

7.Finish the problem with a careful interpretation of the P-value, (i.e. how it supports or fails to support Brother Gregor's claim).
