OK couple have relationship that doesn't work (think they may both be married), anyway they can't be together but when they split they promise to meet somewhere (looks like Amsterdam in my mind) on a certain date.

Anyone know what film it is?

You're not getting mixed up with An Affair to Remember, which is a 1950's film staring Cary Grant are you? In that one the couple arranged to meet at the Empire State Building six months later - it was the film that featured heavily in Sleepless in Seatle.

Oooh! Yeah! I seem to remember watching this one - certainly made since the 1980s. They're in Paris aren't they? or is that just me being crazy (after so many films with the same idea, they all begin to blur into each other )
