we're in the "end times" anyway? and lots of other R&S Christians agreed

seeing that so many in the US are evangelical, is this the view of most Americans?
...or is that a fringe view?

Oh, I am so sick of this whole thing! As a Christian, let me just say that I've heard more than one preacher say we have been in the "end times" since the Resurrection. Even Paul was expecting Christ back any minute. In Revelations, Christ says "I come quickly". It's all a matter of whose perspective you're using. Even if the whole thing ended tomorrow, we are supposed to take care of this planet right up to the last minute. That's all part of that idea of doing our "work" and not slouching off, so that when Christ comes back he won't find us sitting around with our feet up while everything around us goes to hell. In my humble opinion, there's more to doing God's work than reciting scripture and going to church. God bless.

As a Christian, I, too, have come across fellow Christians who believe that all we do to save the environment or resist global warming is in vain due to our nearing the end times. I personally disagree. I believe God created all things, and man was assigned to be in charge of earth, meaning to take care of it, nurture it, respect it.

Even Pat Robertson denounced his once belief that global warming didn't exist, and how he is doing what he can, on his part, to retard it.

In "Letter to a Christian Nation", Sam Harris cited a credible source that said something like 40% of Americans honestly believe the world will end in the next 50 years.

It would be ironic if they came to some sort of untimely end due to some effect of global warming
