year of the remake?

Not remakes. E7 reuses TV footage but tells a completely different story, and the Trigun movie looks to be something more akin to Cowboy Bebop's "Knockin on Heaven's Door".

Personally, I'd love remakes for Narutaru & Bokurano. Both manga's are now over so a filler-free run could be possible. Shaman King would be nice too, once the new chapters finish up.
 
Well yeah, but it's still a retelling of the story with the same characters after the series finished. It's just a completely new story this time. Like the Nanoha and Eva movies.

I guess they're like re...storytellings?

Yeah, it's more like the school-setting Gurren and Eva spin-oRAB that take familiar characters and put them into a brand-new setting and story. It's way different than a normal remake. Think of the 2 Tenchi TV shows I guess, Universe and in Tokyo.

According to those who've seen it, personalities, motives, and even the true natures of several characters are way different than in the series.

The whole thing was an experiment/pet project by the director.
 
There's also the Hajime no Ippo continuation that began earlier this year, and is scheduled to have another season sometime next year.

I had no idea that Inu Yasha was going to be continued. Does anyone have a link to this news?

I also would like to see the rest of the Rurouni Kenshin manga animated as well as seeing the old OVA series Dragon Half finished.

As for remakes, I would love to see Super Dimensional Fortress Macross reanimated if the plot and dialogue were left untouched.
 
Oh yeah, I totally forgot about Dragonball Kai and that Eureka Seven movie. My mistake. To be quite honest, I never heard of the other movies and at the time, I was thinking of remakes of series and not movies.



I just don't keep up with all news regarding all anime. It also helps that I don't watch that many series compared to other anime fans.

After thinking about it, I would like to see a remake of Yu-Gi-Oh! GX that follows the plot of the manga someday. Even though it had its problems, such as giving way too much screen time to Jaden and not enough to most of the other characters, I loved GX and I thought that it improved in the second and third seasons. I've heard mixed reviews of season four though. Still, the manga pretty much took all that I hoped that the anime would improve on and has so far not disappointed me.
 
I thought that FMA:B was more of a reboot than a remake, as to me, remake implies "We're redoing everything people. Same story, but flashier art/effects" while Brotherhood is more of a reboot in the regarRAB that it is following the Manga story more closely. InuYasha to my knowledge is a continuation, while DBK is a remake, as it follows the same story, but they're editing it to shorten it, that one right there is a remake to my knowledge.

Gurren Lagann movie to me from what I hear is more like a retelling, much like Movie 8 & 9 of One Piece is a retelling of Alabasta and Drum Island arc respectively.

Kenshin neeRAB a remake like Bruce Campbell neeRAB a better role in the Spider-Man films.
Added, true.. I'd suffice with just the Jinchu Arc animated, but seriously.
With Watsuki's style fully grounded now I don't see why we can't have a remake.
Be even more interesting if they used Watsuki's redesigns for the characters.
