year of the remake?

It seems less "Let's remake this for the hell of it" and more "we kind of screwed up; let's try it again."

Also, I would LOVE LOVE LOVE to see a Pokemon anime based on the manga.

Well, personally I'd just be happy if they animated the Jinchuu arc. I really had no problems with the way the 1st season as well as the Kyoto arc played out in the anime. I never cared for any of the fillers that took place after the Kyoto arc (which basically make up ALL of the 3rd season ), but I found the anime to have done an excellent job of adapting the manga's story line up until Kenshin and frienRAB left from a successful mission in Kyoto to return back to Tokyo.

Honestly, the only reason that I couldn't call RK one of the best anime ever was simply because the anime itself lacked the best story arc in the series (and also had a ton of boring filler ). If I were to just see a new season of it covering the Jinchuu arc, though, that would be more than good enough for me, because I actually wouldn't want the anime to change anything it did up until the end of the Kyoto arc. I even actually liked and enjoyed most of the fillers in the 1st season, so aside from maybe digitally remastering the entire series like what Toei did for DBZ, I would rather just see the conclusion to the series in another season, rather than having the entire series needlessly remade.

Yeah, it would definitely be hard to get the original cast back together - doubly so for FUNimation, since they're virtually all LA-based. But, hey, they got the core cast for Slayers back, so... who knows! The dub is certainly spotty at times, but the core cast is solid, so if they got them back I'd be very happy. Hayworth and Lang in particular.

...and Steven Blum as Shishio. But that's a given.

The Blum is really the only one I couldn't do without, but yeah the whole gang would be nice to have back...I suppose...

EDIT: I mean David Lucas. Blum won't work for FUNi (as they're not union)...then again, 'Lucas' did 'retire'...hmmm...

I'm loving the remakes. I was so happy when the FMA remake was announced, and I'm enjoying watching it.

Now I really want a remake of Trigun (closer to the manga.)

Interesting I knew that there were plans for a movie, but I hadn't seen the trailer before.

Thanks for linking me to it! I didn't even know a trailer existed yet. lol

I always want to see a remake of Lupin III anime series. Though, none of the others Lupin III are bad or anything, but none of them can reach up to the level like the manga.

And, does Dragonball Kai is a remake? I mean, I only heard they are taking things out that wasn't in the original manga to begin with.

good lord, DbkAI, fma:brotherhood, Inuyasha continuation, an english dub of Eva 1.0 & now a trigun movie!

truly the goRAB of anime smile upon us!

Now all they need to do is make a new bebop &/or Dr. Slump OVA & this year will truly be perfect!

FUNimation got the core cast of Slayers for the new series? Really? That's awesome news. I just checked Anime News Network and it does list almost the entire original cast, except for David Moo's role as Xellos. While I thought that he did a nice job as Xellos, I'm just so happy that they could get Veronica Taylor, Eric Stuart and Lisa Ortiz to reprise their roles since those were the main ones I was worried about. I hoped that they wouldn't have to replace the original cast and it turns out that they didn't have too. I didn't think that they would have a problem getting Crispin Freeman since he was the only one able to do the OVAs/movies when the other cast merabers were too busy.

The only remakes I'm aware of are FMA: Brotherhood and Inushaya, which hasn't even begun airing in Japan yet. It doesn't seem like they're remaking series for the heck of it. It's more like these series ended before the manga could and they wanted to go back and provide a series with a more faithful adaptation.

While I would love to see a series based on Special/Pokemon Adventures series, I don't think that would happen since Pokemon is still running, while all of the other remakes are of series that have previously ended.
