Yamaha Ty250 electrical problem?

Do you have a Radio Shack store in your area?
you will need:
1 ea 7806 voltage regulator (part# 1392008)
2 ea 1uF tantalum capacitor (# 272-1434 )
1 ea heatsink grease ( # 276-1372 )
1 ea heatsink ( # 176-1368 )

once you get those parts I will explain how to hook everything up

note: I am an electrical genius, i can do it, and it will take me a lot of time explaining it to you in words, the easy way is to draw you an electrical schematic, but I can't do that on here, and I'm not going to go to all the trouble explaining it when your too cheap or lazy to visit a Radio Shack and not buy the parts that's needed, the parts are cheap, costing less than $10 to $15

you have 3 alternatives
1 replace the lighting coil with a 12volt one out of a post 1990 yamaha dt125 or similar anything with the rotating external flywheel generator.

2 go to your local electrical store like Maplin or Radio shack and buy a bare transformer, you need to find a primary winding that has half the number of winding compared to the secondary, a 230-110 volt transformer or 110 to 230 volt adapter is ideal, then wire your output from the generator to the primary and the lighting loom to the secondary this will step up the voltage from the AC coil ( before the regulator if you have one) to 12 volts from 6.
3 replace all bulbs with 6 volt bulbs, not so easy to get bright 6 volt 35w bulbs, usually 25W is the brightest.
