Yamaha TT R 50 has dead battery?

My sons brand new Yamaha TTR50 has a dead battery from where the key was accidentally left on. Can anyone tell me what I need to do to get it charged up again?

Do I have to buy a new battery?

If I need a battery tender, what is a reasonably priced one?

if the battery is pretty new then you should not need a new battery, just a good slow charge. also you can get a battery tender for around 35 or so.
