Yamaha T80, 1985 and 1997 swing arm?

Okays, I have a 1985 Yamaha T80 with heavy rust to the back of the swing arm, and it's failed the MOT due to it. I need to know if the swing arm on a 1997 model will fit the same as the old 1985. the other option is to weld it, which is fun, but finding someone with equipment is proving difficult :(
