Yamaha R6 or Ducati 848?

hi all, i was looking into gettin a street bike since my friend is gettin me hooked on them, he had a 07 cbr600rr and wrecked his but he plans on getting another 2010 cbr600rr. Since me and him are very very very competitive i would like to get a bike that would keep up with his easily or even pass it up, but i would also like to try to stay in the middle weight class. I've narrowed it down to two bikes that i like.... the yamaha r6 or the ducati 848, but i'm also open to other suggestions. Which of these two bikes would be a good choice for power, suspension, and cornering? Which would be the best for the street and give the cbr600rr the best competition? I've heard the ducati 848 is really good if you switch out the cam for a better one and dyno it, but im kinda stuck on which i should get. I would really like it to be one of the two i listed but, like i was saying, i'm still open to other ideas or suggestions.

thank you,
Jeff

oh yea, and i was also looking at the 2010 daytona 675 SE. So far the order i like them in is Ducati, then Daytona and R6 being even, any advice would be greatly appreciated!!

ty again,
jeff
lol, trust me... he is crazy.... i try my best to be safe, analyze everything on the bike to get to know it before doing somethin stupid like he did.... i would analyze each gear, what it could handle(without pushing it, just gradually gettin better). if i ever did get one, i would just book it on straight-a-ways to race em or at the track. my friend is literally crazy when it comes to speed and im not like that.... but i like to be competitive and get better. im a very quick learner, good analyzer, and good problem solver, but trust me, i wouldnt just hop on it and open up the throttle all the way by no means. i just want a bike i can get used to and not get bored of when i do get good on it, just do slight upgrades. i just want a bike with alot of hidden potential like buying an old school camaro with a 305 and just upgrade it from there with engine swap and trans swap, etc. but with the bike i just want to do engine upgrades when the time comes.
