hi, i just bought an yamaha R6 and i rode it the other day and i didnt realize that there wasnt any coolant in it so within 2 minuites the temperature went up to 117c /250 F i immediatly turned it off and let it cool down to 90c/ 190F and drove it 1mile back home, i have now put coolant in and it runs fine at about 80c/170 F , i just want to know if i have done some seriouse seriouse damage to it, any help would be great,

Thank You

At that temp the oil starts to break down so an oil change would be a good idea.
Cooling system should also be pressure tested to find out why you had no coolant.
If it was completely dry there is a good chance water pump seals are damaged (but that's pretty easy to spot, coolant leaks out under water pump (left side in front of gear change I think, do Suzuki but all 600 inline four engines are really similar)
