I have a 1998 Yamaha 90hp outboard and have been having carb issues. Does anyone know what the proper Fuel to Oil ratio is? I have been running 50:1. I know that the newer motors typically run 100:1 but dont know if that is the case for a 1998. Also any other suggestions on potential causes?

Yep, 50:1 is the ratio

That's 2.5 ounces of oil to one gallon of gas.

Mix one pint of oil to six gallons of gas.

Use TCW3 rated outboard oil.

Now for the carb: run a product called SeaFoam in hopes of cleaning it up. And mix it heavy, use one can to about 10 gallons of gas until she cleans up, and then mix it down. Run premium gas, it is the friend of the boater.

Best of luck
